I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about the Droid 2? So far it's known that it's still being built, and maybe an October launch/release, however no known specs/size. Since the Shadow is already in "usage" phase, I thought that the Droid 2 would be "seen/heard about" already.:D

Confirmed (through sources, however can change along the course) 04/16/10:
- Release a couple of weeks before Halloween
here is a few facts on droid2. it is slightly more rounded edges, the open chin on the current droid vs the droid2 is the same, but the face of the droid2 chin is equal lentgh.this means the exposed chin on the current droid is open vs the droid2 chin is now part of the face slider.
also the 4 soft keys are moved around just a tad.same location but the menu button isnt the 4 dash's. its like the devours 4 squares.
the 5 way nav is gone and replaced with 4 arrows in the keypad. this allowed the keypad to be biggerfor fat fingers like mine.
the camera is 5mp HD and the phone looks nothing like the pic above. not even close. it looks very close to the current droid just evovled a tad.the power, volume, cam keys are now flusg soft touch and not so obvious like the current droid is.
i cant speak on the guts yet.too soon.this is all i can say so please dont ask for more specifics yet.

I hope we can find some info for the Droid2. I have wanted the Droid for a while, but my NE2 isn't up until mid-May so by that time the Droid will showing some age, and I am worried about its physical keyboard. I still want a phone with a keyboard as I don't mind the thickness it adds, but reports are that the Droid has a less than stellar keyboard, so hopefully by May we'll have more concrete info on this guy so I can decide if I need to wait until it releases, or most likely grab the shadow.

As far as I know (through reading) the Droid 2 will be launched/released with the Shadow, so both will launch in June/July for Verizon. I think that the Droid 2 will have front-facing camera and LTE (Verizon).

Yeah I have been following the thread over at howardforums, and it seems hard to follow what bill was saying about the droid2 october phone and such. He is very suspicious in his answers and never gives much information without little subtleties that are hard to pick up on through text haha. He alwasy has to be mysterious with his answers.

But either way I'm waiting till May and hoping well have lots of solid information and a hopeful release date by then :)

Yeah, Bill is a tester, Verizon phone tester I believe. So pretty much Bill knows what phones will get sold by Verizon because he tests them. That's just me of course, but we know that he tests phones a couple of months before the final product since the phone can change in the amount of time that he tests it (ie maybe hardware, and definitely bugs/firmware patches.)
So he's getting to test the phone before the 4th of July, while we get the phone before Halloween.
