You shouldn't need to. If it plays on an iPod chances are it's already suitably encoded.

yeah i upgraded they didnt seem to want me to have the hero kept trying to sell me the new sony ericsson!im really happy with it, just gotta wait for the new sim they sent me to activate and i've gotta wait till sunday to the new deal starts so no unlimited internet untill then!

Make sure your unlimited deal really is unlimited.

The current best deal with Orange is the "unlimited internet" being bundled with the iPhone. The small print explains that Orange consider that fair usage of 750mb/month = unlimited.

If you go over your fair usage allowance you can be charged a lot. Spotify and Beebplayer will use this up in a couple of days of average use over 3g.

This REALLY pisses me off. Especially when you see how much traction the Android platform has in the US already. Why are Orange so Lazy?

They should realise that the average smartphone user SPENDS more with them: contract, data, add-ons etc

Why push people to buy a dumbphone? Makes no sense - just lazy.

im really happy with the deal now then!!!, i was told about the usage allowence to be fair, but didnt think i would get close on a phone, guess i was wrong as i downloaded the bbc iplayer app yesterday lol!

to be honest i cant see why people pay the price for the iphone i worked out with the cost of a 32gig iphone and 18month contract it would have cost me

Got my Hero 2day..threw my N97 against the wall ...

This phone is brilliant. I do admit it was a tiny bit laggy when flipping homescreens but as soo nas I updated my ROM (via HTC website) no lag what so ever. What ever I threw @ it.

My MP4's play perfect..no lag, they have been encoded properly.
Browser is brilliant.
SOund quality is good I must admit and speaker volume is loud..though an equalier of some sort (added bass etc) would be even better!
65K colours vs 16mill argument ceases to exist. This screen is better than my N97's even though that had 16mill colours..
App store is great..Ovi store is a joke.. just had wallpapers and ringstones & would charge

I thought thge hero needed an EQ also, but I recently got hold of some decent sony in-ear headphones and sound quality is amazing!

I've got a pair of Shure headphones which are very expensive (I didn't pay for them though ) and they are amazing..but an equaliser always help provide a little bit better sound..more bass or HipHop / RnB setting is nice and plus every other music player has one

Still dual driver headphones for the win !
