Problem with Maps

Here lately when I open Maps it completely shuts my phone down. Anyone else had this problem? I don't believe it has been updated lately that I know of and it worked just fine last weekend when I used it.

I'm stock 2.1 and haven't installed anything but updates for apps I already have installed.

Handscent, ADW.Launcher, Websharing Lite, ASTRO, Slacker, and LogMeIn.

I am not sure what could be doing it if you are totally stock.
A couple things to try/look at.
I don't know at what point the app crashes your phone, but if you are not "signed in" to GMapps, do so on your phone if it doesn't tank it right away. I have had freeze ups while accessing GMaps when not signed in.

I am used to using nandroid to back everything up, so, at your discretion uninstall - reboot- reinstall and sign in to GMaps.

Otherwise maybe GMapps is using too many phone resources and you don't have enough free memory and the phone reboots - or further, there is something wrong with the phone itself when put under load (CPU access +GPS, etc).

After running Maps with the traffic layer for about an hour in the car, the traffic layer turns itself off and won't go back on. Anyone else?

Phone shuts off and I have to hold the power button to turn it back on.

Yeah, It seems like it is working fine to me now. I haven't used it a whole lot, but I did open it a couple of times and all was well. Thanks for your help and the speedy answer.
