Can there be a ROM that includes MOTOBLUR?

Personally, I think Droid owners struck gold, the fact that we have this great phone and arent hindered by things like Sense UI and BLUR is really better than it seems.. Nothing beats stock android when it comes to things working the way they should, no interferences and getting OTA updates. From what I have seen, SenseUI, Blur, and other stock UI's can be serious drawbacks. There always seems to be even more issues than normal..

Exactly!!!!!

My buddy picked up the Hero on Droid Drop Day when I go my DROID. He is incessantly complaining about how his phone gets laggy as hell, and most particularly when his battery shows 50% or less charge left. I told him that it is his SenseUI that is killing him - his phone lags so badly that if he gets a phone call, the music plays perfectly fine and yet unlocking the phone takes so long that 70% of the time the call has already been transferred to VM....

Of course, he is only on 1.6 (IIRC), and has not rooted his phone either, so it is partially his own fault....

I have to concur. I like the Android OS the way it is! For example, If you want to optimize it to work like the sense ROM's do...you can but you're not married to it for the life of the phone.

My sister-n-law has a cliq and I actually recommended it to her cause she never had a smartphone before and she is big into social networking sites. I personally don't like Blur but I think it has it's place for a certain group of users. My guess is that most Droid owners would not fit into the motoblur demographic (just a guess though).

I just found this today and it is a little glitchy (not horrible) but worth a look if you like blur (can set up email, sms, facebook, twitter, RSS feeds, etc. all on your lockscreen) Might be useful to the OP ;) You can also just use it as an app and not as a replacement lock screen so that should fix the glitchiness as the biggest problem with the app seems to be that you sometimes have both the Flan and Flyscreen lockscreens to unlock.

Blur is actually a cool idea. I'm not too crazy about the live feed on your home screen (but it looks cool). What I like is how all your facebook contacts are integrated straight into your normal contacts. If you want to contact someone on facebook, myspace, email, twitter, ect then you can do so without opening a separate application. Your friend list expands instantly and if you have friends who added their number and e-mails to facebook you have it at your disposal.

the thing i like about android is how much it can be adapted and changed. i know i'm not the only one who notices how google has been adding most of the key functions of motoblur and senseui to stock android since 2.0. they want people to be able to get those functions with stock android too. but its not forced on you like the customized versions of android

why the hell would you want blur

Why the hell would anyone want anything? I dont see why people have to hammer this guy just because he saw something he liked, and he was wondering if he could get it. Personally without trying Motoblur, I thought it looked pretty sweet too. Getting your msgs sent to your home screen live.. Why the hell not?
