Hey Guys

I was wondering if anyone knows of an App that will let me have different sounds for specific notifications.

As I have gmail, facebook, skype, mms, texts and more, And I which I got when I get it.

Sorry if this has already been spoke about, I searched and couldn't find anything specific.

Thanks

not sure about all but each email account can have its own sound in each owns settings

THis is not necassarily true. Each GMAIL can, but not each email, as I've been trying this for days and no one has offered to help thru the forum. When u set up "mail" using a yahoo account, it doesn't give the option. Ive only found places to set up a different notification for the gmail accounts i have.

To the OP...U can set up different ring tones for phone calls, texts, facebook and gmail. once in the applications, go to "settings"..u'll find the option to choose tones in there.

As for skype, i'm sorry but I don't use it so can't help out there.

This has been really bothering me, too. Coming over from BlackBerry I've enjoyed having a different notification sound for each IMAP mail account I use (I use three IMAP accounts daily).

I -really- need that functionality on the Incredible but it doesn't exist.

Surely there's an app for that...?

If you're using the native email app, you can set this at Settings > Sound & Display > Notification Sound. As long as you have custom options in your other various programs, that will then be your sound for other email aside from Gmail.

Oh my goodness, i feel like a spaz! Thanks for the info. I have gone into that so many times but thought it would change ALL notifications so I left it bc I wanted the tones I had previously selected for my gmail...THANK YOU!!:D

I have two separate IMAP email accounts on my HTC Incredible: One labeled "Work," connecting to one IMAP provider. The other labeled "Personal," connected to a different IMAP provider. I want the new-message notification tone for Work to be different from the new-message notification tone for Personal.

HTC uses the SenseUI shell, so I'm not sure if that represents the "native" Droid e-mail client or not, or if it makes any difference--I suppose it must, because I cannot seem to get the Incredible to make a different noise when I get mail on my Work account apart from the noise it makes when I get my mail on my Personal account.

Dig?

For your situation, I'd check out K9 mail. You can merge multiple accounts into a single program and have different notifiers for each.

Unfortunately there is no way to set a different ring tone for Skype mobil yet. I hope they will change that soon. I personally would love to have a different ringtone for incoming Skype calls as well as a different alert for Skype message vs. text message. sigh...

Is it possible to upload a tone and use it specificaly for incoming texts?

I've found where you can change the "incoming text" tone, but wondering if I can add custom ones?

Thanks !

HTC EVO

Create a folder titled Notifications on your SD card and add uploaded tones there. Should come up as available options in programs where there is a notification selection.
