Do You Think the Evo Will Affect Our Devlopment?

Not at all... The Evo has already been rooted and was handed out to developers at Google I/O. I'm not sure what you would claim to be "our development" other than the root status of the phone. Both phones are desirable and both have strong communities.

Verizon Wireless has a large userbase and customer base so I'm not "afraid" of anything.

I think it has more attention from accessory developers because the phone was announced months before the Incredible and released long after the Incredible.

The EVO was also given to the best developers around for free at a Google convention which is why it got rooted.

Verizon is the king of the [American] castle and the Incredible is their flagship phone.

As far as I'm concerned, the only update we have to worry about is Froyo, and it has already been announced that the Incredible AND the Evo will be getting it.

You'll be just fine don't worry about it.

I love the Incredible, but I'm afraid that the Evo is taking all of our developers. Do you think that we are going to turn into the Sprint Hero with no ROMs, etc. Just wondering your take on things.

Hiya Ruben:

I can't find the response that HTC sent to me, but it essentially said that they were aware of the call quality issue and were already working on a ROM update. So, to answer your question, I know from that email follow-up that a ROM is in store for us short-order. Why shouldn't I believe it. They told me that.

Secondly, I can think of no reason why Verizon's flagship phone would be abandoned. The Moto Droid wasn't. It's lack of multi-touch was addressed in their update, nicely.

Finally, I also believe the memo that was sent out saying that all late model phones will get Froyo. Bon Apetit! ;)

Fear not, my brother! :) :)
