Played with the droid and eris for an hour. Eris just seemed a lot more snappy even after Droid reboot and all apps killed. Key board was slightly less easy than onscreen lanscape keyboard but what moron decided it didnt need auto correct. That makes it useless for me. If eris had same screen, i would definitely get it. Now i am torn. Maybe i should wait for 2.1 to see if things are fixed.

Seriously? How many people can't learn to type well these days? I know it's only two thumbs instead of all ten phalanges, but still... People are getting lazier and lazier these days.

Agree...I think some people will find ANYTHING to bitch and complain about.

This phone is amazing.

Not someone who sends 200 texts a day. They are trying to compare it to the iphone and the iphone has autocorrect so clearly this should have it also.

It's not something to bitch about, it's a must have for many many people.

Maybe they should start making a droiddont commercial...

Guys i just want to put in my 2 cents here.

For the Original Poster... go to the App market and download the better keyboard on there, it's amazing and it has different auto correcting options.

That's what i'm doing.

I'm fairly sure it does have auto correct for virtual keyboards because virtual keyboards aren't 100% accurate. With all this new technology: phone books, auto correct, auto format, etc. etc. People are getting lazier and lazier.

Most undergraduates can't even write a damn Work Cited page without using some sort of template from Microsoft Word.

Haha look at what you are saying, and think. Why were cell phones or for that matter any technology almost... created?

Because we are lazy and want things done quickly. Yes autocorrect is easier than backspacing and retyping.

So honestly you look stupid, stating your opinion in a technology forum which was founded on the basic premise of humans being lazy and wanting things done quickly the easiest way possible.

This is actually amusing as hell haha.

So I take it you're one of those guys who can't write a paragraph without spelling something incorrectly without auto correct fixing it? Can't even write a Works Cited page without a template? Can't remember a friend's number without your cellular phone?

Yes, cellular phones make our life easier and that's the purpose. However letting your brain degrade as a result of it isn't much wiser. Go ahead and laugh now. In a few years you'll keep on laughing and not know why you are. Go ahead, I'll still be self-aware and self-sufficient. "He who laughs last, laughs best..." You won't have the last laugh.

Oh wait... do you need it to wipe your butt after using the restroom too? ;-)

Better keyboard has auto correct for the hardware keyboard? I can't believe some of the flames here. Grow up. I guess eventually I might get used to the keyboard, but I am switching from a Motorolla Q so I am used to a completely different keyboard.

I realize some of these threads are just turning into hatefests on anyone that could dare say something bad about the Droid. However, I have to agree with the author about the general use of the Eris compared to the Droid.

Prior to today I had never used an Android phone, period. I was unbelievably excited about the Droid and went and played with it for about an hour this morning. Then I noticed the Eris and gave it a go. I liked the Eris a lot better. Just preference, not saying the Droid is bad...I'm just really impressed with HTC and their Sense UI. I expected more lag from the Eris as well, and it seemed smoother than the Droids I used.

Haha this moron is cracking me up. He belongs in like the amish forums. haha does he realize he is in a technology based forum that relies on making out lives easier.

He is actually arguing against a technology that many smart phones already have and the droid is toting itself as the the next best/greatest smart phone, and it doesn't have it.

Look at what you are arguing you idiot, you sound like a moron, honestly. Go back to your amish boards and leave us technology loving, make life easier gadget lovers to ourselves.

You are in the minority, actually you are probably the only idiot to argue that the droid should not have a certain technology to make our lives easier.

Have fun in your 'works cited' forums making fun of incorrect "templates" haha ok I'm out this is too amusing and I don't deserve to laugh any longer...
