Broken already :(

Let me just say that I have never broken a phone before!

Last night the screen just stopped working on my EVO.
When I press the power button the buttons on the bottom light up but the screen won't turn on.
Time to head to Sprint........
They BETTER have an EVO to replace this one.

That really stinks! With the amount of phones at launch there are bound to be some lemons. Sorry for the bad luck, hopefully they replace it quickly.

Oh, did you try a battery pull?

Wondering if you tried taking the battery out for acouple of minutes and but it back in, some time it just freezes up.

Thanks! I've taken the battery out a couple of times and you can hear the phone turning on, but no screen. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!

same thing happened to someone i know, he had one of the ones from the google show....same 'symptoms', then the screen went completely dead. htc said they couldn't do anything till after the 4th when the phone was released.

Thats too bad. Im sure sprint will have some to replace it.

On a similar note, does anyone know the replacement policy under warranty for stuck pixels or dead pixels? I know some companies say there has to be a certain amount or something.

Think there were one or two early reports about screen failures yesterday, 1 reported seeing something like a 'smoke' effect for a sec.

Unfortunately that's part of the...risk in getting electronic at first release. One would HOPE that the vendors would be prepared to have replacement devices overnighted.

lol I had mine on the use cable and then picked up the laptop forgetting that it was plugged in! It didn't hit anything but I damn near dropped my laptop when I saw what I did.

Haha, therein lies the problem! And now I'm REALLY scared to go in there. I haven't even gotten the replacement Pre yet and I'm coming in for a replacement EVO! OH geez!

Are you sure you are looking at the front of the phone and not the back?

I only ask because there was that "professional photographer" yesterday who complained about pic quality until someone told him he forgot to remove giant protective sticker on the lens.
