Spica 5700 availability in India

Hello all,
I dont know about other countries, but its a bit difficult to lay hands on a Spica here in India. I have been trying to get one in Bangalore for about a week now, but all the dealers I called say its out of stock.

Other users can post updates in their respective cities to help users get the Spica at the best possible prices.

Bangalore: Not available anywhere
Lowest Price quoted: Mobile Store - Rs11,129/-

**Update: Got a heads-up from one of the samsung dealers here that he *might* get some stock by the end of this week or early next. Price quoted; 11,850/- and promised a discount since I need 3 handsets.

Yes, to all the above. Pretty good service, I would say. It might take a bit more than 2-3 days if you are shopping at infibeam.com for the first time, because they do customer verification etc.

Still not available in Blr. Atleast people know the Spica now, earlier they tried to sell me some slider phone saying this was 5700. A couple of places called me saying they will get stock in 2-3 days. I dont have too many hopes now

Ya, I get a "No, sir" the moment I utter the word "Spica" in every store. From what I gather, there is a shortage of AMOLEDS in the market.

I am trying to get it from some of my friends working at Samsung. Lets see how that works out.

From my experience, I can say that it is not a risk at all. When I bought it from infibeam, even the Bangalore stores were not stocking it. I don't think Samsung looked at India as a potential market for this phone.

ok...spica at last. got it in bangalore at SunTimes in Jayanagar. bought two for 12.5k each. ordered 3 more.
folks in bangalore looking for the 5700 spica can call Ram at 9845663706. you can give my name (amit) for reference. I have been bugging him for a long time, he'll remember

So far it has been really good. It came with the 2.1 upgrade...
WiFi was the first thing I configured and I was up and running in minutes...tried a few apps from the market.
Enough has been said about the spica in all the forums and almost everybody is pretty happy...I am too
The only downside I have noticed so far is the memory might be small going forward as apps will get bigger in size and the speaker phone is a bit feeble...rest is perfect...

Do keep posting availability info here though...its still a nightmare locating the phone. I have 3 friends who want it, not available though...

This will be my first post to this forum...
My birthday was on 9th of June and i badly wanted to buy Spica. When the date neared, i started going to different stores in Bangalore to enquire about it. None of the dealers had stock with them. I was totally disappointed by this, and then finally i bought it from eBay.in
They shipped the product in just 2 days (from Nagpur) after placing the order and i got my mobile a week back. It came bundled with 2.1 (Eclairs), and hence i dint have to go to the Samsung Service Centre for updating it.
Very much happy with my phone.

I've been looking for this phone for about a week now in bangalore to no avail. Called up the samsung showroom in Forum - stock expected by Monday Jul 5th.
Sun times in jayanagar same reply.


No stocks availible on the internet either. I cant figure out why samsung doesnt stock this phone. Spica it hits the sweetspot - a fully loaded smart phone at a very reasonable price. Every other android phone with similar features is priced above 25k. Beats Me!

Any updates on availability would be mos appriciated!
