Accessories Anyone going to try the Amzer 1800mah battery?

I believe it was determined that this is a fake. I have no independent knowledge and am just repeating; but what I read was that it is a faked version of the seidio 1750. Again, I am just cautioning that you should beware.

I also wondered the same thing... I think I'm going to hold out for the larger extended batteries because I want the extra juice and don't mind the extra bulk... I actually want it because the Incredible feels too small in my hand. The only problem with getting those, I'd have to wait for either Amzer or Seidio to release protective cases for larger batteries (if you know of any other companies, let me know).

Actually Seidio's holster is better, but it hasn't come out and they are two totally different designs

I am getting amzer slim extended battery for my droid incredible and they have those in stock now. It doesn't require extra battery door so it will not make phone bulky. I will tell more once I will get the battery.

Any report on this yet? I'm definitely in the market for a battery upgrade, but I want to keep the same back on my phone without any gaps in closing it. $60 is worth it if it will double my battery life.

Just considering stock is 1300, 1800 won't double the battery life, just FYI.

There are also Seido batteries out there for about $40 that are proven to work and are rated at 1750 mah.

I'm not saying this one's bad, just unproven at this point.

I've heard reports here of people saying they've used their phone for 45 minutes right after unplugging and it's still at 98% with another battery. If I did that it would drop to 80%. So yes, 1800 is not double 1300, but a 20% drop is much more than double the 2% drop some people have reported.

I've also heard the Seido batteries are proven to be no better than the HTC 1500 mahs, based off that table I've seen several people post around here. But then I read anecdotal stories where people are raving over the 1750 mah Seido despite that report, and I wonder if I care what the report says, if people are genuinely happier with the Seido.

What I don't want to do is burn through 3 batteries and $80 before finally finding one that's clearly best, or to buy a 2150 mah only to find out it's three times as thick as my current battery.

In short: I'm buying a new battery, but I have no clue which to get. My only requirements are: (1) the longer, the better and (2) I don't want to have to get a replacement back or have any gaps when I put my back on. Weight, price and brand are are unimportant to me.

Well just look around is all I'm saying. This is an unproven battery, and if you want to be the one to prove/disprove it, go for it. I personally bought the Seidio 1750mah because Seidio seems to be top notch. I don't mind reporting my resulst as some have had amazing results, and others have had results similar to the 1500mah OEM battery. I got it for $33 and that seemed worth it to me. It also fits in the stock location and is a little lighter weight than the stocker.

It's all about personal preference, I was just mentioning that you might want to weigh your options, there are a lot out there.


EDIT: Also consider that the stock battery seems to be wildly inaccurate in the top 10-15%. It drops like a brick down to 90% or so, but then levels out and holds its charge pretty well for the remainder of the battery. Don't judge the battery's life based off the difference in the top percentage.

I think everyone needs to stop searching for a miracle battery.... there isn't any. As of now the 1750 slim battery seems to be the best out there, i use it and have no complaints, we just need to wait until a reputable dealer sells/develops/makes available a higher capacity extended battery.

Until then KEEP IT CHARGED.

DO NOT use boot-leg batteries, its not worth screwing up your phone.

Not pin pointing what is or what is not boot-leg, figure it out on your own and make a decision. I just try to give heads-up advice, the choice is always yours and so is the results.

Amzer is not bootleg. Amzer is the Verizon's OEM for many accessories and cases. Virtually all of the cases that Verizon carries are manufactured by Amzer. This includes the gradient snap case that many people seem to like.

If Amzer has an 1800mah battery, it's probably a genuine Amzer product with 1800mah rated cells. Of course, you never know how well the cells perform.

I have the Amzer sitting on my desk. The phone arrives tomorrow. I bought it because it was a smidge bigger than the 1750 and still didn't need the replacement back cover.

I was just about to make a post about why everybody talks up the Seidio but never mentions this one. It's only a little bigger, but about the same cost, and with this phone, every minute of battery seems to count.

I'll post my experiences as they happen.

So I put in the Amzer 1800 battery lastnight around 9PM to charge. I unplugged at midnight, did about a half hour of playing, then went to bed.

As of right now I am at 65% battery. Considering the level of use I am putting the phone through I think that's very good.

I've been beating on it since I woke up at 6AM. Web, texts, calls, almost constantly.

So far, an excellent battery for the price.
