NEW BATTERY WALL AC CHARGER FOR VERIZON HTC DROID ERIS - eBay (item 260609405749 end time Jun-24-10 21:14:30 PDT)

i didn't get it from there, i got it from somewhere else (not ebay) and paid way more, but whatever. it works and was still cheap enough for me not to care.

anyway, it works!!!! i have my original red 1300Mah battery and two OEM HTC RHOD160 1500Mah batteries. i topped 2 of the 3 off with it and then put one in my Inc. it's been pegged at 100% for over half an hour now so it works and works well. :) :) :)

it's really a must have for anybody with 2 or more batteries. this way we don't have to put a dead battery back in just to charge it. we can always have a spare or two fully charged and ready to go.

another edit: ok, the battery that i took off of this charger been pegged at 100% for just over an hour and a half now. the phone has just been sitting idle this whole time with Wifi on. i keep waking it up every so often to check the battery level, thats all the use it's gotten, but it does show that the charger charges the battery completely full. so it does fully charge it and it does not drop to 92% within minutes like it can when the phone charges it overnight. yay!

you guys may not believe me, it's pretty shocking to me, but i just got 8 hours and 34 minutes of overnight idle and i'm still at 98%. i just opened system panel and watched it drop from 99 to 98. the battery was charged using my cheap chinese ebay charger and then put into my Inc. so each percent lasted 4 hours and 15 minutes.

there is definitely something wrong with the way the phone charges batteries, at least on the last 10% or so.

Yep, there is definitely something wrong with the way the phone allows the battery to charge. Doesn't make much sense as to why it does that. It's become a pain to have to do that every morning. When I plug my phone in to charge, I expect that it will be fully charged, not just reading 100% only to drop to 95% within a few minutes of using it to open email and other things. In this phone's case, 100%=90%.

I want to get an external charger for this reason, but with the Seidio case on it now, it's a bit more challenging to get the case off and swap the battery every day. I bought the Seidio 1750 battery and have gotten better life out of it, but it is a phone issue since it treats different batteries the same way.

What I really want is HTC to fix this issue. I believe they have acknowledged the issue, so they need to issue a fix as soon as they can. It will probably be months from now before a ROM is issued for this and various other issues. I know I have a couple of options to work with until then (power down phone, plug back in multiple times to top it off, or get external charger and remove case and battery each day) but I look forward to the community getting a fix for this ASAP.

defnitely looking to buy one,

Just wondering about the reliability of products purchased this way, off ebay from honkong sellers. Are they usually up to par? or if i get unlucky can a get a bad piece of equipment and seriously mess up my battery or Device?

I see no possible way for an external charger to damage the phone. I guess if something went bad it could ruin a battery though.

Yeah, thats what i'd be worred about, if its made cheaply and it pushes too much power to the battery it could probably mess it up. Anyone buy this one or a similar one on the cheap from ebay? I was gonna buy the seidio one from amazon or similar, (it is significantly more expensive) and shipping estimate is 2-3 weeks there too, so figured no rush as of now.

i trust it. the batteries stay room temp when charging. i'll be using this charger to charge my batteries until HTC fixes the problem. it's gotta be a software issue.

also looked closely at the pictures and says output 350ma, Thats vs the seidio brand multifunction charger and the stock a/c charger thats 1A output. So overcharging shouldnt be an issue, but how long does the off brand cheapy take to charge? I'd imagine longer than the brand name one with the lower output numbers.

Do you have the off brand one, or the brand name one? You say you trust it, but u said you bought one for alot more than the one listed there. I would trust it too if I bought it from a trusted seller and not ebay via hong kong....

i got it from Cell phone accessories, Mobile accessories - Motorola, Samsung, LG, Nokia, Nextel, Sony ericsson, Sanyo, Kyocera, Audiovox and Bluetooth. not sure what you mean about brand name or off brand. it's not the sedio, it did come from hong kong or somewhere in china.

it does charge super duper slow since it's only 350Mah, but it's not a problem. i pop one in and let it charge overnight and it's done by morning. i have 3 batteries total so i always have at least one fully charged waiting for me.

Desktop Battery Charger For HTC Hero (Sprint), HTC Imagio - HTC Imagio

today i woke up to a phone that had been sleeping for 11 hours and the battery was STILL at 100%. now i'm convinced that the battery meter isn't calibrated right too. i listened to pandora in my car with it for about 15 minutes and after that it was down to 95%, when i started it was at 99%. not sure how it can go 11 hours of standby only dropping 1% and then loose 4 percent in 15 minutes.
