Hi, new member here. I don't have an incredible yet, but I'm looking to purchase one as soon as my iPhone 3G contract ends on july 11th. That aside, I liked using my iPhone as my music player. Seeing as how the HTC incredible does not come with a pair of earphones or headset, I was wondering if this was compatible with it.

Amazon.com: Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi Noise Isolating Earphones w/ Microphone: Electronics

As in using it as a headset, pushing the button to answer/end a call, pushing the button to start up the music player then play/pause/forward/rewind. I want it to generally function the same as Apple's provided headset. If it is compatible, are there cheaper options? These are actually on a deal, they usually cost more than 100$, but atm they are 60$. I'm no audiophile (I mean, come on, Apple's mp3 player outputs are crap) , but I can tell if a pair of headphones are crappy like if it's drowned out sound.

Says this right in the ad:

Mobile Phones*
iPhone
Blackberry
Music Phones
*with 3.5mm jacks
So, yes, these would work with the Dinc.

I've used things that say general things like that, but its' actually incompatible. So i'm asking specifically.

And the apple earphones suck and are pretty much broken, that's why i'm not using them.

TY for the help. I missed the deal though. Wasn't able to get enough info in time because this thread got moved into the accessories forums which means a lot less viewers. thanks mods.

I just bought the Klipsch S2M on Amazon. They are $32 right now and have a single button microphone. I got them a few days ago and the button and microphone works just fine on the Incredible for answering/ending calls. They are also very comfortable in your ears. However, I have to admit that even though they do sound pretty good (very crisp), I have a pair of Sennheiser ear buds that were $25 on Amazon (now they are $32) that sound better (but that's just my opinion). Here's the links:

Amazon.com: Klipsch Image S2m Noise-Isolating Headset with…

Amazon.com: Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds (Black): Electronics

Is the volume control on this type of headphone usually separate from the volume control on the device? I mean, is it just an electrical-type volume control on the wire that doesn't change the actual media volume output from the phone? I would think that if it changed the phone's media volume it would cause the screen to light up, which wouldn't be a good thing.

I can't speak for the SuperFi, but the Klipsch and Sennheiser don't have volume controls. The headsets that I have seen with volume controls are typically limited to electronically moderating the actual current going to the headset (aka, not adjusting the phones media volume directly).

I use a Jabra Halo headset. It's bluetooth, and it does stereo sound as well as act as a normal bluetooth headset, allowing you to use it while on the phone. It has a nice touch controlled volume rocker used to change the volume by sliding your finger up or down it. Also, by double tapping the rocker, it will go forward or back a track. May not be what everyone may want or look for, but I thought maybe a few might wanna check it out.

1) Put the thread in the proper forum to begin with
2) It's your fault, not the mods
3) Use some common sense, these would work with the Inc but you won't have the "apple" functionality with play/pause/ski

The headset would work as a headset with the single button acting as an answer button. I've found all this out with my own knowledge and info. Do some research yourself first before asking others to do it for you.

Wrong. What is your 'own knowledge' based on?

Common sense is no substitute for actual user experience, hence the inquiry by the OP.

I have Amazon.com: Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10vi Noise Isolating Earphones w/ Microphone: Electronics

With my DInc it plays and pauses music; there is no volume control on it. I can also use the headset to talk on the phone, but the button on it does not actually answer or end a call.

Really, Frozen, we are here asking questions because that's what these forums are for. Now, any idiot can tell that a pair of headphones will work fine w/ any device that has the same size jack. It's the functionality of the buttons and mic that I think people want to know about. So from reading this, the buttons work, but not fully. You can't answer or end a call w/ the buttons, but you can play and pause music, and the mic works with the phone. Is that correct? These earphones are again cheap on Amazon, not $60, but $75. Still better than the UE website price of $190. Any one else have experience w/ UE headphones and Android phones?
