Accessories Made-for-the-EVO Car Mount??

I'm looking and looking and I just don't see a car mount that is MADE for the EVO. I'd really like one that i just slide the phone into to that would provide it power without me having to fiddle with a cord. Like a car DOCK instead of just a mount.

Anyone seen something like this? The AC/USB port on this phone is in a location that would lend itself very well to this IMO

So is it a fact that we would have to remove any case we have on our EVO to use the car dock?

If that's the case I'll be getting a universal one instead.
I'm sure you would. If it's like the ProClip custom ones I have had for all my other devices it will barely fit even with just an "Invisible Shield" type of skin. Had a custom mount for my iPhone and it is such a "custom" fit that after about a week it pretty much killed my I.S.

ProClip has told me via email that they're working on a car dock for the EVO. They have ones for almost every other phone on the market.

ProClip Mounting System*-*Device Holders and Dashboard Vehicle Mounts

This is correct and I hope it won't take too long. There is an option with ProClip (I one a mount in each car and holders for both my wife's BB Curve and my Hero - including the charging unit) and that is a unit that is adjustable. It will work with my wife's BB Curve and it will adjust to an iPod, too. You may want to check that out until the official EVO clip shows up.

I too am waiting for one made for the EVO. In the mean time I got this inexpensive universal one and it works pretty well. Can't use windshield mounts in California so this one is a bean bag.

HTC HD2 EVO 4G G1 Droid Incredible FRICTION Dash Mount - eBay (item 220596671558 end time Jun-26-10 11:50:30 PDT). The phone does vibrate a bit while driving on bumpy roads but not too bad. You do have to be carefull of not squeezing it too hard on the phone since it will push the volume buttons. And the parts at the bottom that hold the phone up when verticle do block the microphone but I always use a bluetooth headset in the car anyway. When it's horizontal you don't need them.

I was considering getting a bean bag eventually (although, I didn't realize that it was illegal to have winshield mounts now), but these pics give me a better idea if it'll work with my car.

You can also get just a bean bag base that will take any suction windshield mount. They also make a disc that you can stick to the top of the dash but I prefer the bean bag.

I just picked up one made for the HD2 from a T-Mobile store, very functional and very well padded. Lots of adjustment options so I'll let you guys know how it works tomorrow on my road trip!

Hmm.. does Evo even fit the HD2 mount? As far as I can tell - the HD2 microUBS connector is positioned in different place than the Evo's. So how do you get Evo to fit the HD2 dock?
