Root How do you unroot from the unrevoked method?

I have been looking on how to do this, I used the one click unrevoked method and am just wondering how to undo it if i want to? I have seen many diff thing but not a deff answer to this.

I thought the new version of the unrevoked APK stuck after a reboot?

But uninstalling and rebooting should still work, right?

Well, my only reason for being rooted does not work yet for me (wireless tethering on 3g) so I was thinking about unrooting my phone untill it does. If anyone knows for shure that just removing the app will do the trick then let us know (if you try it befor i do)

well, deleated unrevoked and i think its still rooted, but i dont know how to tell for shure other then the superuser app is still there.

i'm still new to android and to rooting, but if i'm not mistaken it will "uninstall" after a power cycle of the phone.

yeah, i restarted the phone right after i removed it.

DJ, please keep us in the loop on your situation; many others are concerned about rooting for this same reason. You're obviously one of the few that has "tested" de-rooting the phone, so please let us know what happens! I agree, it would be great if there was some obvious way for us to know if the phone is rooted yet or not.

Well, because when I reboot I lose root and have to re-run UNREVOKED to get root back. I actually decided I like it better that way.

Edit: The other way I can tell is because I use Titanium Backup which fails because of "no root" when I run it if I rebooted the EVO.

OK, I just rooted... *gulp* It worked, but, now, not sure what I should do with it?? *shrug* Ideally I want to install Apache or a similar web server and an SSH daemon... Anyone know where to get either of those from??

Well, i deleated unrEVOked, and superuser apps, one of the apps i have allows you to use root user to do more then non root with the app, and it wont let me go into "root mode" in the app so im guessing its unrooted, is there some other way for me to check?

just a little more info to add to the confusion. . . i used the unrevoked method last night, i just applied the OTA update for the SD card fix and my phone power cycled and root is still there (verified by launching titanium backup with no issue and also using shootme screen capture. weird!

Uninstalling Unrevoked worked for me. I use a wifi tether and when I uninstalled unrevoked the wifi app requested superuser access and said it was not rooted.

Pretty much this. I tried it out just to see how unrooting works. I deleted my unrevoked, even after it stuck and power cycled. Apps that required root afterwords would not start.

I'm back to being rooted however. OP, on side note, why couldn't you get 3g wireless tether to work? Mine is functioning quite well with unrEvoked root.

I had no issues as well using wifi tether on 3g. All I get around here is 3g and it worked freaking awesomely!!

The unrevoked you can uninstall using app manager, but how did you delete the superuser app?

ok, so it seems by far the best way is toast's way. i heard i need to unroot it since i first did it with unrevoked. what is the easiest way to unroot. i saw 2 files i need to run. they were exe files.
