Help Q: Can you disable the start-up Sprint 4G chime?

Just a quick thought. When you switch the phone off and on, it always makes that Sprint chime when the 4G logo shows up. It's not terrible by any means, I kinda like it, but I wondered if it's possible to start up an EVO silently?

I'm pretty sure if the phone is set to silent when you turn it off, the sound doesn't play when you turn it back on.

Unless you root and flash a rom, the only way around this is to turn it to vib or silent when you turn the phone off.

I'm not sure you have to have root. I came across this the other day. I have not tried it but there are some links to change the boot animation without root.
