HTC Incredible or....

Should i get the Incredible or the iPhone 4?
I had never had a smartphone.
I am really loving android but i am also familiar with iPhone os.
Please help me decide?
Plus i only have Verizon.(iPhone 4 coming to Verizon)

The iPhone for Verizon wont probably launch until June of next year, when the network integrates their new LTE Network. At this point both ATT and Verizon should be on the same network, thus it will be more cost effective for Apple to wait until then to launch on both at the same time.

I have an Incredible and an Iphone 3gs. I will definitely be getting the Iphone 4g. Not because its better than the Incredible. I actually am okay with at&t and love data/voice ability. But the reason is i live 10 hours from my parents and niece and nephew and brothers. Now i can video call with them. Thats what sold me. Now i just have to buy them one too dammit lol

That's if they have an iPhone 4 and wifi available. If they were in a setting to talk that way might as well just hop on the computer and webcam. Not truly innovative.

Inc for three reasons, none of which may apply to you:

1) Inc's available now

2) I hate Apple for purely ideological reasons

3) You have to jailbreak the iPhone to get an NES emulator

The iPhone was, and remains, an AWESOME phone. I have no doubts the new one will be superb. However, for my PREFERENCES, the Inc is what I need.

Also, if you want video calling, realize that for the iPhone you HAVE to be on WiFi, which kinda renders the whole thing pointless. You might as well just do it on a laptop and get much better quality.

like everyone else has said, they wont be coming to Verizon any time soon.

But obviously go play with both and make the decision yourself..
I went and grabbed the Inc. and fell in love. I cant wait to play with the iphone, but I would probably still lean towards the Inc. Cant say yet

It all depends on a lot of things. I was chatting with an iPhone user recently about how much they spend on apps and it is OBSCENE what they have to shell out for what Android phones get for free.

Honestly if you're not sure about the Inc, wait and check out the Shadow or whatever other Android phones are coming out. The money you'll save on apps alone is worth it.

I can't quite agree with that. I'm not really sure what you are referring to, but to me it seems iPhone offers a lot of 1$ apps while android's counterpart costs 3$ or more. I have an iPhone 3G and my cousin got the Dinc, and just quick browsing through the market in his phone I see that the apps there cost more.

So you're gonna drop 2 x $199 plus 2 year contracts and maybe even sign-up for high speed internet for you and/or your parents and a pair of wifi routers? Damn. That's a REAL expensive solution. How about picking up two webcams for $100 total? If you wanted unrestricted mobile video conferencing, your second bet would be a pair of EVOs. Unless money is no object (the premise upon which Apple operates with respect to their product pricing), the Iphone 4 should be your last choice.

When you say 'counterpart', do you mean 'the exact piece of software ported to Android' or 'Android equivalent'? Because the two are very different. There are people on here with tons of free apps on their phones, and just in some 'net browsing I have yet to run into too much on the free side for the iPhone that are worth looking at.

I am still going to keep my Incredible on my work line. I already have att and verizon so no biggie there, they are due for upgrade on att so no biggie there. Two Evos would be nice but the iphone is easier for moms to understand. We both already have wifi routers :D

So say i get the Incredible would i regret after say the shadow comes out.
Just keep this in mind, there will always be a better, bigger, badder phone that gets released as soon as you buy the latest one out. Innovation is nothing you can control so why feel any regret?

IMO, a Verizon iPhone (if it does indeed get on their network) will not be available until LTE is widely in use in cell phones, which won't be atleast until next year (roll out starts end of this year but probably won't be that widely used in cell phones)
