Screen backlight going out during call...

So annoying that when you come to end the call the backlight has gone out so you cant end without going back into the phone to see the end call button..anyway around this?
And are there any apps that lock the volume button?

2) You can press the track ball to get back the display.

I'm quite bored of telling people this, but I'll do it one last time but then expect people to use the search forum feature in the future...

There is a free app in the market called shake awake which works well for this minor bug. There you go.

Ok apologies for snapping at you. However, the reason you maybe haven't got much help or response for your question, is that its been answered several times before if only you looked into it.
Rant over.

I have used shake awake since I've had this phone and found it works great. Occasionally it force closes, but nothing serious. It's free from the market, so you could try it and if you find it problematic, just remove it!

on the right side of your phone, next to the menu button, is a little button that looks like a phone being hung up, press it. This will end your call.


So yes, you can end the without going back into the phone.

just installed shake awake and it works fine on my htc hero, maybe they updated it

The more frustrating part of this little 'feature' is when you phone an automated number and need to press a number to progress. More than a little confusing the first time it happens.

Thanks, I knew about the end call button but not the track ball trick; I'll have to try that next time.
