I have to say one thing for Apple...they do make a gorgeous product. But how long will that last when you need it to function more than you need it to be fashionable? Also, why not give higher resolutions? They couldn't stick in an 8mp camera? My Hero now has that and takes decent pics. I can't wait to mess with the 8mp. I remember when Apple was so behind in the computer dept when I was a salesman. The new computers wouls already have DVD drives and Apple would stay with their cd-rws. It feels almost the same now with Apple trying to keep up with the EVO. I still respect everything that Apple does but Android and Google is the future of technology.

MEH............

Sounds more like a android fanboy than anything. Kinda like when we complain about a apple fanboy who reviews an android product. It goes both ways.

By no means a "FANBOY". In fact i firmly believe the Android platform has much more room for improvement. And is no where near perfect, nor is it ground breaking by any means. If Android doesn't streamline and improve in the near future (which it already show signs of doing). i.e. Fragmentation of its OS. Itself is destined to become another open source clich

You know what I loved most about the iPhone announcement today? When Jobs blamed wifi on the issue of iPhone 4, yet the 3gs iphone connected find on the wifi ... how can he blame the connection issue when the other phone connected to it just fine lol.

Watch the video, the 3gs on left loads the page (slowly, but still loads) while the other gives error message after error message.

You know what I don't really get?

Why any one feature makes a phone better than another. People need to seriously realize that not every single aspect of Phone A is better than Phone B, and vice versa.

People complain, oh the iPhone only has 5mp, others complain the EVO 4g is plasticky, it could go on forever and is pretty senseless to me.

Whats my opinion? I believe the iPhone OS is still the most polished OS out there. For some people maybe thats not what they're looking for and they want customization instead.

People need to pick their battles. Also one thing that is pretty annoying is people saying, "iPhone users like shiny things and they're just sheep to Apple's marketing". To me this is a total disregard to what the iPhone has accomplished in 2007.

Some people just can't stand it when people disagree. Let people enjoy their awesome devices and talk about how we can improve our phones.

What do I want improved/fixed? I want better battery life, QWERTY keyboard layout, OS responsiveness, and the out of order SMSs.

interesting but imovie looks incredible and believe many people will use it. still the keynote today was not enough for me by any means to change to an evo once my att contract is up. i hope someone makes something like imovie on android and they do it well, i would me willing to pay 5-10 if whomever does it well enough.

This is the truest article about Apple and Android that I have seen. Face it, most media organizations are fanboys. This guy gave an honest opinion and one of the few you will ever see.

You can't be serious. I could tear that article apart and disprove almost all points made. This guy is a fanboy as well, you just think he gave an honest opinion because it matches up with your own opinion.

He was talking about the author of the article... not you ;)

My apologies.. Agreed! Upon further reading of Daniel Lyons articles, I now see Roman's point. Still though, it's about time Apple made an majorly embarrassing press release for one of it's products. Jobs must have started sweating bullets, when he couldn't connect to the internet! You know tonight Jobs is having nightmares of Apple stock taking a 2000 leagues style dive. Android faced Kraken and all and all!

Dude I just read through your previous post. Why aren't you at macrumors? Troll much?

How is the articles author a fan boy? Apple is now playing catch up to the Evo's capabilities. Apple will lose it's marketshare to android. Android is spread across all carriers with multiple models, it's inevitable. So, what is there to pick apart?

I'm not at macrumours because I have an EVO 4G. I think the iPhone is a more polished phone, but I chose the EVO because of its better network, plan pricing, big screen, tethering and among other things. But I can still appreciate the iPhone being an awesome device and most of my posts are constructive criticisms towards Android. You won't get the best if you don't expect the best.

And now onto the article. I'm not gonna quote every single point the author made, so this is one excerpt.

"He showed off a new version of Apple

Wow the guy eviscerated Apple.

And I've been preaching for the last few days about Android v. Apple is eerily similar to Windows v. Apple from the late 80s/early 90s.

Apple was p3wning the personal computing space when they blazed with the IIe and then the Macintosh. And then Windows 3.1/95 came along and said 'put me on anything you can find' and Apple in terms of personal computing was relegated to the recycle bin shortly thereafter.

Apple came back in the PC space recently but have never never fully recovered. Android is about to repeat the past and steamroll apple on the mobile phone space but this may be uglier since Google is keeping a strong eye on all of the commanding services they offer and unifying that experience as they build out their mobile empire.

Pair up good hardware (like what IBM and Compaq did back in the day for Windows) vendors with a ubiquitous OS - the writing is on the wall I say.

Now i am completely an adroid fan and wouldnt use an iphone if it was given to me and the monthly bill was free.

However, one of the biggest areas that will help decide this phone war is apps. This is an area that android needs to improve in. I worry that with android being ran on so many low end phones that developers will develop to these phones instead of utilizing the powers of the EVO and other high end android phones. I understand this is why Microsoft has made a phone standard in Windows phone 7. Windows mobile was really hurt by this. Developers dont want to develop apps for a fragmented audience because they will have compatibility issues with too many people.
I do wish android would come out with a hardware spec standard. I can imagine apple will have developers developing many thousands of HD games and apps for the iphone4.

But like i said before i dont support apple. And playing a few games on my phone with higher resolution may help see devices to teenagers but not me. I prefer customization over rows of apple icons.
