Accessories Ghost armor warning!!

For those going to put Ghost Armor on their phone. I have seen multiple reports of folks screwing up their screen because of the liquid applicator. Make sure to let the phone dry for longer then 2 hours after you have applied the body screen shield. The Evo TFT screen is very sensitive to moisture. I assume this is because of the gap at the bottom of the screen and the ear piece. If you start up your phone before it has dried all the way there is a good chance you will kill your screen.

I warned him about getting the screen too wet and the moisture indicator as well, well after he was done soaking my evo i pulled the battery cover off to check the indicator..... it is turning slightly red after like 30 seconds. i showed him and said, see this is what i was trying to warn you about. He said, " huh... the indicator is usually located more in the center of the phone" I said now what do we do, if anyone looks back there they will say i have water damage and not warranty my phone. He said that Best Buy will step up and make it right, he noted it on my reward zone acct. and also wrote on the receipt what had happened. Hope i dont have problems.

I asked what happens if i have trouble with it, and he says this is how they do all of the screen protector installs. I kindly told him to back off on the water usage when applying the screen saver. I checked the inside as best as i could for moisture but there was none that could be seen. Only the lower left corner of the indicator got damp and about 1/8th of it is "pink". I am not to upset because i trust the people at the Best Buy here, i have spent tens of thousands of dollars there over the last 2-3 years and they have always been great with any issues. However I was a little surprised at the amount of water he used to do the install. The guy said BB would provide a new phone if I had trouble because of this.

I got mine install fine (even left the phone batt in and the phone on... yeah im a risk taker, but i have put a few of these on in the past and i kept some papertowels handy to get the liquid as i squeegied it out. BUT i recomend anyone else to make sure the phone is off batt out when you do this, follow instructions!

Yeah I watched BB apply and Invisible Shield to an iPad when I was in their once. The girl doing it literally had the shield sopping wet, so much that it was dripping all over the place. I asked her how she kept from causing water damage, and she just said, "These are pretty water resistant actually." After she was done there was a giant puddle on the table which she cleaned up with her microfiber cloth. Ridiculous. After seeing that I would never let them apply a shield for me. Just because she didn't trigger the water damage indicator stickers doesn't mean there won't be signs of water damage internally.

On Friday, I installed the Ghost Armor with NO issues. I did not take off the battery. Using the bottle, I sprayed each side twice and applied. As matter of fact, I started using the phone within 40 minutes.

I was able to install the GA for my EVO without any error - it's really easy - just take a little patient so you can align it to your phone correctly... Been using GA since the TP was out - I installed GA on 10 devices already so it gets easy the more you try. I also applied it on the iPad which took forever because of the alignment - couldn't get it right so there won't be any air bubbles.

My best advice is to be patient & dont over spray, but dont under spray also...

Crap... i sprayed my XO Shield pretty heavily... haha well its still sitting in my room w the battery out and i havent turned it on since applying so maybe it will be ok. Ugh!

I got a Ghost Armor, but had BB do the install - that way if someone screwed it up, it wouldn't be my fault. LOL The girl who did it did a great job and the screen wasn't even very "fuzzy". Still being careful though...

I was pretty careful... i installed my XO Skins a few hours ago now and turned it on just to check it out. AHHHHH it looks all screwed up! Ugh.

Like the entire right side of the screen looks like it still has water inside of it, and then from there over towards the left just past the center the whole screen looks like it has water but less... one area towards the middle bottom has some weird scrape looking areas of water under it where it looks like the squeegie might have messed it up after the water got down in there. ugh!

I immediately turned it off and will continue to let it dry overnight... i hope there isnt any permanent damage and that stuff all dries up! You can only really see it on the lighter screens... some of it does look ruined though

The water damage indicator sticker is 100% intact though i think...

As long as your screen doesn't go completely dark it should dry out. I would still go get a new one though. You shouldn't have any problems, just take the GA off and tell them your screen screwed up just randomly.

Its 9am, and the screen still looks the EXACT SAME... It has like 4 different levels of "damage" or "wetness" ... whatever you wanna call it. Some areas look a little darker, some lighter... along the edges its very smudgey and BRIGHT like light is bleeding through or something. If i tilt the phone certain ways it gets even brighter.

^^Unfortunately i didn't read into it enough before i decided to apply it... i watched the XO Skins video on their site and said HOLY CRAP and preordered one on the spot haha

Ok update... i called the local sprint repair center and he said that this happens sometimes, he even just cleaned up a phone that was completely covered in cat vomit and some got down under the screen somehow... basically he had me lightly wrap it in a towel and put it on the dash of my car to force it to dry up so that's what i'm doing. And it's working. Wow... prob gonna fry the hell out of my phone but at least if i have to take it in it won't look like i had water damage! haha ... all the scary looking sharp looking streaks and stuff that shot from one side to the other under the screen have mostly cleared up too. Right now it just kind of looks like big giraffe pattern on the inside. Before it just had several fat layers of water all over esp on the edges but it seems to be drying up now. Thank god.
