Does anyone Eris do this?

Its called anti-aliasing. It smooths all the edges so it looks more aesthetically pleasing, especially since the Eris has a fairly low res screen. It helps make fonts more readable at different zoom levels. When you move it, in order to keep performance up, it stops anti-aliasing until you stop scrolling.

My old camera does the same thing when you scroll through images.
