Alright bare with me, cuz this could go all over the place.(and I am not going to try to use correct grammar or spelling so get over it)
Alright, this is my 5th htc phone, also had an instinct as well as a pre, and many other phones before that werent so "smart" and have hacked and rooted all the ones that could, and have used different roms and yada yada yada...All im saying is... I am not an expert but I am not a newb...so lets go
Battery Life: Alright this is Day 5 if you count Fri, and today(tues). I unplugged my phone at 6:25am..it is now 5:25 pm and I have 24% battery left...Not Great...Not Bad...I have 4g, wifi, Gps, Bluetooth turned off, background data on, But only Gmail on automatic. I dont use weather widgets, I have FriendStream on but I update it manually....Now this might have nothing to do with it but this morning I was around 83% around 9 o clock....and the battery seemed like it just kept going lower and lower...until I took the Calendar widget off...then the draining seemed to slow up some. I checked email on and off, I read this forum on and off, I read engadget atleast 6 times, Checked twitter, and FB all day, and listened to Music for 25 mins, and talked on the phone for about 15 had 4g on for 12 mins and watched espn during that time....This battery is not as Bad the pre, touch pro, or mogul...and is a little worse than the Hero...Oh well...its a powerful phone its going to use the battery
Ok why is this phone sooooo big...lol... Yes I know the screen is huge...But good lawd they betta not make a phone with a bigger screen. Umm this phone feels a lil awkward with the silicone case on it...but feels just about right naked...It fits the pocket just fine...so no real issues there.
I dont know if its the screen protector or not...but every once in a while...I touch or drag and nothing happens...just awkward.
This phone is quick...a lot faster than the hero, web pages load faster, screens move quicker and smoother.
So far the phone is what a expected...a larger quicker hero... The battery life on the hero wasnt superb...And this phone uses the same size battery doesnt it??? Sooo Bigger, More Hightech, more radios.....Larger screen.....Ummm of course THE BATTERY ISNT GOING TO BE AS GOOD AS THE HERO jeesh ppl.... Now I dont know about those who say they go from full charge to dead within 2-4 hrs... Umm those ppl either have a messed up phone, dont know anything about android and its setting, dont know that even though widgets are nice...they use more power.... This is how I see it....and then I think I am done
Htc Evo 4g is a Sports Car...you dont buy it for the Gas Mileage, but if you want to get 20 mpg all you have to do is take it easy...If you always want to see "what it'll do" all the time...Expect to stop at the Gas station more often and get a 12 mpg.
Im gonna stick with my V8 and when that 4 cylinder with huge spoiler and and stickers pulls up next to me...Im going to show ppl whats under the hood and let em have it!
Enjoy your phones everyone...atleast for 30 days...and if you dont like it...return it.
