Camcorder Help!

So this is prolly a really dumb question but here is my situation. I went out to this pool hall/bar after work the other night and low a behold this guy is starting fights with people after he gets cut off. Well the bouncers are surrounding him and the guy and the owner of the bar are basically screaming at each other.

I said to myself this is the perfect chance to test the camcorder on my new Evo. So i whipped it out and starting shooting and eventually he trying to start throwing some punches and the bouncers tackled him and his head bounced off the side of a pool table and they choked him out and he just layed on the floor for a few minutes asleep lol.

Anyway, i want to put this up on youtube. I transfered the file to my computer but it's playing sideways and i can't figure out how to rotate it. I shot the whole video in vert mode.

I'm new to having a nice phone and this stuff is alittle foriegn to me

Well, that's not a phone issue...the same thing would happen with a Flip camera depending on how you hold it.

Pop it into Windows Movie Maker, rotate it, and away you go.

Although, given that it's a .3gp (or whatever) file, that might not work. A quick google search should tell you how to rotate a .3gp file.

Lol I'm out at a bar watching the nba game now with some buddies. when I get home tonight and figure it out u guys will be the first to see. All the people at the pool hall that night want the video too. It's pretty funny.

Just a tip to you next time you decide to video record something. Turn the camera sideways so you are recording it in widescreen. It will look A LOT better when you upload to youtube.

Video quality isn't great at all.

That's because you rotated it and re-compressed it. Thats why all the camera menus are horizontal, because you are supposed to shoot that way. And you can upload straight from your phone to youtube, if you have signed into the youtube app, and if you are on wifi.

thanks for the replies guys i really do appreciate it. I'll definetly shoot in landscape mode next time. I used Oxelon to convert it to a .mpeg file and then used windows movie maker to rotate it. I didn't realize i re-compressed it that sucks. I definetly gotta get more savy doing this cause it was fun.

oh and yea you should have heard it in the room when his head hit the table. It was SOOOO Loud. I thought thats what knocked him out at first.
