Hi:
The volume is way to low on the moment. Both speaker/ringer, and well as in call volume. Is there anything that can be done?
I am a Touch Pro 2 Windows Mobile user, and there is a file which can be replaced in the main Windows directory which increases volume. Does Android have any similar trick?
I am finding this info out for a friend of mine who just bought the Moment.

Also, SMS tone is very short, is there any way to set it to be like a ringtone, sith no time limit?

Thanks!

PS: The Moment is awesome, I was ALMOST jealous :)

Either there's something wrong with the audio settings or you have a hardware problem. The Moment is easily the loudest phone I've ever owned, louder than the TP2 I used. No audiopara tricks necessary. As for different notification tones, check out Tone Picker in the market. Personally, the only thing I'm missing from WM at this point is the ability to have a separate notification for voicemail.

Thanks for the replies!
Well, I suggested to my friend that he return his Moment, and perhaps try with a different one.
If what you guys say is accurate, then there is obviously something wrong with his phone. It is CONSIDERABLY quieter than my Tilt2 (TP2). I am not saying that it can't be heard, it does ring etc, it is just not very loud. And no, I do not have a hearing problem, nor was I listening to it in a car.

Anyway, hopefully a new one will do the trick.

Thanks again!

Try volume control with Quick Settings app. It lets you adjust six different volume settings - Ringer, Notification, Media, Alarm, Voice call, and System.

yeah my volume is seriously screwed up on my phone too, it used to be way loud like every body is talking about, like i would listen to it at like 50% volume. But now the volume is like a fifth as loud as it used to be, now i can barely hear it at 100% volume, I have tried going through different apps, and downloaded songs, but they are all super quite, any ideas?

Is this after updating to CL14? Anyway, use Quick Settings app and try to adjust various volume settings. Hope it helps.

Completely unrelated - but sort of is? I don't wanna hi-jack this thread but since I figure this is all about volume and questions, why not ask here instead of starting over...

I am also coming off a TP2, and could it in to my car stereo using an FM Modulator (set to a radio station) and use it as a speakerphone. Worked flawlessly!

Now, when I do this with my Moment, it appears that the microphone is shut off when something is plugged into the earphone jack? Anyone try this before and had any luck getting it to work?

Also, as far as the sound being too soft, is there a booster setting for the media player software? The TP2 had Audio Booster with EQ built in to Sense, but I don't see anything like it on Droid. Thanks!

so i went to the sprint store and then after a while of trying to figure it out, we just did a factory reset, and then after i turned it back on it was normal volume, i think it was one of my apps that i downloaded that was screwing with the volume. Cuz it was playing out of my ear piece speaker on the front of the phone, but not my main speaker on the back of the phone, so im glad i got it fixed
