HTC AND Google Mail

I searched for an answer here but only got something related to the Hero. Can someone help me?

I am getting two notifications for my Google accounts...one from Google Mail and one from HTC Mail. I think I only want the Google Mail...How do I disable the HTC notifications? I've looked in settings but can't seem to find it.

Thanks!

I don't have my phone on me, but basically you probably have to delete the HTC email account you setup. Menu > HTC Mail > Settings > Accounts > Delete (or something similar as I'm not sure how to get there).

I almost made the same error because I setup the HTC mail with my gmail before I sync'd my Google account to the EVO.

You'll lose HTC's format for email, that's about it. All the contacts, calendar, etc stay intact. I just put a Gmail widget on the home screen for quick access.

Hope that helps. If not, I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Actually, you do not need to delete the account to stop recieving notification messages from the HTC Mail application.

Open HTC Mail, then select the account you wish to stop receiving notificiations for. Then, Menu --> More --> Settings --> Notification Settings. You can have different notification settings for different accounts (which rocks!).

It's good to keep HTC's mail app going because the Gmail app doesn't allow you to select/copy text within e-mails. The HTC applications seem to copy how the iPhone does copy/pasting, which is quite useful in some circumstances.

I always felt like I was missing out on some cool HTC functionality by doing that. I'm going to re-setup that ActiveSync Exchange account now. Thanks given!
