be jealous but after seeing it then holding it in my hand, the first thought I had about the EVO was “this sucker is big”. I’m not ragging on it because I’m sure it’s a super phone, but for me there seems to be a point of diminishing return when it comes to size in a phone and this one steps over that line just a bit. I almost got the feeling I was holding that Dell pad that’s been showing up around the internet.

Again, I’m sure the EVO is a great phone but for holding comfortably while on the train to work or while walking, or for sitting comfortably in my pocket, the Incredible is just about a perfect size for me.

I think it's big because it's geared for the teens that want a big screen to play video games and watch youtube on a kickstand at the lunch table during school with their buddies from what I've seen on the Evo forum.

But yea, I keep my Incredible naked (besides screen protector) because I don't want it any bigger than it is.

I will get a Seidio Innocase for traveling, sports, etc though.

I want a waterproof case for when out on the lake.. I wonder if their is one.

I want a waterproof case for when out on the lake.. I wonder if their is one.

The times I go out on the river (I live on one) I just take ziplock bags, put the phone in one, seal and tape, put it in another, seal and tape, and then tape a flotation device to it (like you'd have on your keys)

You can still use your phone through the bags, too :D

And yes, when jogging, I wouldn't want that huge EVO flopping around in my pocket, in my hand, or around my neck.. I guess it really is designed to enfatten our youths even more (It even has a kickstand so you arm doesn't get tired holding it up!!)

Its funny. On Friday i got my shipping notification, and while shopping this weekend, I realized that we were next to both a Sprint and VZ store, which got me thinking.. i know i am getting my phone soon, how different are these two.

I went to Sprint first, and played with it for a few. While it was nice, it was just too big. Now, its funny that I say this, because I actually own one of the largest (and first to be actually HTC branded) HTC phones, the Athena (x7501), with its massive body and 5" screen. Problem is, it was way too big back then, and doubly so now. The big screen is nice, but it must be a PITA to carry around. The LCD on the EVO was nice, but after hopping over to VZ, the Inc laid it to waste. Better colors, better viewing angles, and a more pleasing size.

Honestly, both phones rock, and i love to see Android getting so many phones in hot demand; it only means good things for us all. The selection is also nice - networks aside, people should have no problem finding something that totally fits their needs. :)

I have the Seidio case and like it very much; it doesn't add too much to the size at all. The case actually helps it fit even better in my hand.

i just ordered the 3500 mAh battery... is that the one you have? i saw pictures of how much it adds to the size of the phone but was wondering how much bigger it really makes it. i order the 1750 mAh slim battery as well just in case the 3500 is too big. i bought the incredible not only for the power, but the size and slimness as well... something that kept me away from the moto droid. i don't want to carry around a brick.

EDIT: oh wait, you were talking about just the hard case for it, weren't you?

Where did you order the 3500mAh? My understanding is that it is not out yet. I have an email into Seidio to send me notice when it is released and they have since started sending me advertizing emails but no notice on this particular battery.

I would like to know this as well. Its the number one anticipated accessory I've been waiting for. I want the extra juice and the extra thickness actually benefits me. Probably in the minority here, but I wouldn't mind the Incred to be a lil thicker. Right now it just feels too small in my hands and a tad flimsy (even though it isn't)... its like I'm always extra careful when handling my phone.
