I told you super phone needs a super battery

HTC EVO 4G review -- Engadget

We know what you're thinking, though: what about battery life? Amazingly, we got some three hours and 13 minutes of run time while using the EVO continuously as a 4G hotspot -- and when we say "continuously," we mean we were streaming high-quality audio the entire time. What's more, the phone wasn't even fresh off the charger when we started; it had been on and in heavy use for two hours and four minutes prior. Bottom line, this thing seems to be a champion on a 1500mAh battery; we can't even begin to fathom what a massive aftermarket pack would do to it.

Move along, troll.

Everyone of you are lying to yourselves saying the evo's battery isn't "that bad"

The Android superphone with incredible specs also requires a super battery, which wasn't part of the package.

wow! you're quite the prognosticator!! how'd you know someone was going to write an article about the evo's battery...

...oh.

also, you read this?:

The data over 4G is the fastest you can get (where available) and the mobile hotspot functionality worked as advertised (for 3.5 hours on one charge, no less).

now you can keep you evo, 4G is great! (despite what you report).

thanks for the article. how was lunch? Sprint store closed?!

The guy in the article complains about battery drain while on 4g; I have to believe that his radio killed his battery finding a good signal (as many others have already said -- i.e. the same thing if you can't find a 3g signal).

IF this is still a problem after 4g is blanketing us, then they'll have a real reason to complain.

Battery is just fine. 100%, 45 minutes of music through aux in, 1 minute of checking email, about 20 text messages sent, battery life is 86%.

People who complain about battery life are people who let everything run in the background. This is why apple has a lot of iphone users because they don't need to close those background apps unlike us evo users. I love how complicated this phone is though ;) First time android user but loving it.

edit: Guys use the automatic task killer, its better than ATK. It auto kills the apps you select when the phone goes to sleep. When you wake it, it tells you how much MB is saved. Its one of the best!

hehe, I'm not going to call you names, mercdizzle, but I will say either you're a glutton for punishment, or you really enjoy getting the fanboys riled up LOL

Today's my first EVO day -- 55% battery remaining after 5.5 hours, far from stellar, but on the other hand I'm still in "playing with a new toy" mode and using it much more than I normally would!

Half the board tell you that their phones are just fine and you continue to try and press the subject.

Look, i HAVE to have a phone for work all day. Im usually all over town (or out of town) and my boss demands to be able to reach me at any given moment. I could not own a phone that didnt last all day. And my Evo does. Bottom line.

for 12 bucks on ebay, you can get a battery charger and 2 spares. You would never need to sit near a charger again...

Dude, if you dont like the phone, drop it in the toilet, and call it a day; but its a waste of time if your gunna try to discourage every person on this forum.
