After reading the article in Engadget and Gizomondo... I went to look for the
V-Cast media app.... No show... was suppose to be released this AM.. .. Just wanted to check it out as there is a 1 month free trial and thought it would be fun to have some neat Video's to watch..

Oh well no show on planned date is nothing new for Verizon, I guess..

no V-cast media Manager is to sync you phone and PC
This is the videos distributed through V-Cast Media has live football and sports etc. ... suppose to be released today .. I dont' want to spend the $10 but they give you one Month free trial so I thought I would have some fun with it but can't find it..

Wish I could but I don't have the tech skills to do it.... darn.. so I have to look for the little old lady stuff to use...hehehehehe

Everyone is really down on Vcast, but I have found that it has a ton of content, and the video quality isn't bad. They have a ton of hockey stuff, which personally makes me happy. Makes for a nice solution while we wait for flash (aimed at those that don't root obviously)

See the cool part about this forum is you have those who are rooted and have flash already. Now...I don't mean for that to sound like I'm teasing...it's a good thing for you!...cause we have tinkered around with it...

I have played with 2.2 and flash for over a week now so I've learned a couple of things.

1) Flash really nice to have. It's probably not an everyday use item for me...but it's nice. When you want it for something (watching tv shows you missed while riding to the beach on vacation)...it will be awesome to have!

2) Froyo is fast! :D We are still overclocking our droids...cause we can and it does improve the performance...but 600MHz is fast enough to do everything you want to do and more. Also, we have seen releases that are supposedly "official" kernels that are OC'd to 800MHz. It would be great if 2.2 comes with an extra "boost" :D (I don't know if it will, I'm just saying it looks like it could).

I hate to see people dropping $10/month on something they don't really need. I'm not telling you not to buy this...it may have merit even after 2.2 is released. Historically, V Cast has always been an under-performing/overpriced service.

I hope the OTA stuff comes soon! I was down on the 2.1 upgrade cause people were making a big deal out of very small updates. Just my opinion but 2.1 wasn't a big upgrade....2.2 will be :D

EDIT: Adding this several hours after the fact but just to back up what I was claiming...this is a benchmark @ 600MHz :D - Little off topic so I apologize...

It was never free on the voyager. If you already payed the 15 v-cast pack then you could watch for free with the subscription

I had the Nationwide premium plan ($10 less a month than the plan for the droid - same features), and it included pre-recorded v-cast and the VZNavigator. When activating either of these, the program would ask if you agree to the $9.99/month charge, but there was not a charge on the bill, as these services were included in the Nationwide premium plan. I did not pay for the v-cast pack.

Again, my bill increased by $10/month when I got the droid, but I no longer had v-cast or VZNavigator

Yeahthat is the same thing. I had the premium plan too but you were still inadvertantly paying for it. It was still ten dollars it was just thrown in so therefore all of those vcast videos were free because You pay for it. The others are considered "premium".
