I am a neat freak..well not so much super anal...but i like efficiency.

When I mount my card to put music or photos on it, there is a bunch of folders created by apps.

Is there a way to have the android 2.0 os put all the app created folders in its own version of a windows like Program File folder so its consolidated.

That way i can have a directory thats nicer like:

Music
Photos
Videos
Misc
AppFolders (as an example name).

anyone know how? even rooting? anyway its possible?

Thats not the issue..i can manually create folders i want to use (like music, video) etc...
But i want it so that any current and future installed apps to use one folder to put all their app created folders into (like windows does with Program Files directory). That way there isnt a dozen+ app created folders in the root sd card.

Havn't tried this cause i'm not as concerned but is it possible to partition the SDcard? My main issue is i'm using the aldiko book reading program and all the book covers are showing up in my gallery and i'd like them not to so how can I get the gallery to restrict where it pulls pictures from. Also if you just don't want to see the app created folders could you set them as hidden in windows?

There is currently no setting for that. If you manually move those app created folders to a new one, the app will just recreate the folder.

I believe the android OS will only mount the first FAT32 partition if you have multiple partitions. The only way to get around this is with root access, which is currently not available. Although I'm sure many developers are working on it.
