Wifi Routers

Just curious, what router are you using that plays well with the EVO? I ask, because my Belkin N-router is not working with my EVO. Just curious.

I'm using my att dsl wireless router which is a 2700B series. It works great. What kind of problems are you having?

Turn on G. Evo doesn't do N.

Netgear N here. I had a linksys N but it doesn't work with PPTP VPN. So far, no problems with it. I have another one at work.

Seconding checking to make sure your network isn't N-only, but frankly, Belkin is garbage.

wrt 610n - linksys. dual mode... 5ghz n for my laptop and 2.4 ghz b/g for the other items. evo sniffs out WPA2 personal just fine...WPA-TKIP...

Same here no problems and I've been connected to it everyday since the 4th. With the speed test I'm getting around 7MB so I'm pretty happy with that. Good luck.

Apple Airport. No issues here besides a low signal, but I still get a very fast internet connection.

My iPhone 3GS detects the router farther than my EVO.

Its set for both G & N. When froyo comes out, I'll exclusively do N.

I'm sitting in the room w/ the router & Ran Speedtest....

My results:

Run 1: 8765 down / 2112 up, ping 89
Run 2: 8747 down / 2136 up, ping 91
Run 3: 8688 down / 2134 up, ping 95

My EVO doesn't want to connect to it no matter what I try...from open to G only. Plus, I'm really getting tired of this router. Lately, I've been having to reset it a lot, due to the connection going in and out. I purchased this router without doing research (which I rarely do)...I needed a router quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Only having the router for less than a year and having horrible coverage in a small one level house...I tend to agree.

Update- I managed to score a sweet deal on the above wireless router and it works! I get a great signal throughout my house on my EVO and my other devices. This just confirms my thoughts about my Belkin wireless router not playing well with my EVO.
