HTC has released a conformational report that it will bring the highly anticipated Google Android 2.2 Froyo update to all its smartphones that were released in early 2010.
According to an official confirmation from HTC that said all phones released in 2010 will get Android 2.2 Froyo updates in the second part of the year. This in addition will be featured only on those phones that were released this year, such as the Nexus One, Legend, Desire, Droid Incredible and others to come. Meanwhile no news have been confirmed whether the phones of previous HTC model will have FroYo or not.

What's the deal with older phones not getting updates? Android is new to me since Friday. Before that I had a palm pre and before that the first gen iphone. With those you constantly recieved updates. Are google phones going to be the only phones guaranteed to have updates and everytime there is one htc users are left wondering if they will recieve any benefits?

Its totally HTC's perogative on whether or not they officially update the phone. Thats one reason why rooting/ROMs have become popular because people want access to updates long before the OEM decides to make it available (if ever).

where did you find this. Maybe you should have run it through the translate app prior to posting:)

none of that made any sense lol

take note of the OPs post count... Darpuna??? thats looks like one of those spam bot names i see when im banning spmmers...

Before you go gettin' all nasty on the guy (or gal)....

I'm pretty sure Darpuna is an Indian name (Asian Indian, not Native American). Maybe he (she) ran this through a translation program, or maybe this is the best English Darpuna can muster. In either case, I'm willing to bet Darpuna's English is a whole lot better than your Hindi. Heck, some of the native English speakers on here can't write much better than that.

Here's someone makes an effort to pass some news on to the rest of us, and all you can do is criticize. Lighten up, man.

Im betting the Evo will have froyo before iphone 4 is in stores. Actually I thought they would surprise us on launch day. Only Makes sense. Plus evo and froyo rhymes ....

You are joking?? I hope so. If not, please take your meds ;)

Sense devices will not get 2.2 until August- at best. Bank on it :)

If the OP is true, maybe later than that for the EVO. The more stuff on the device, the longer for the update. Word.
