Official word from T-Mobile.....

Just got word today from two service reps at T-Mobile, one of them I have known for a very long time so I know he's telling the truth....


JUNE 2nd- Soft launch for MyTouch 3G Slide, approximately 20 or so phones arriving to store, just a 'feeler' to see how the phone will do. Waiting list was already full.


JUNE 16th- Official launch for MyTouch 3G Slide, much more units arriving at store, another waiting list has been created and filling up now.


Each T-Mobile rep is trained at least ONE MONTH in advance on the features and specs of any upcoming phone before it is released.


I asked both reps about the Galaxy S, they dug into their system and found NOTHING about the phone, not even under the T959 code. They have heard nothing (aside from speculation) about the phone coming at all!!


So there you have it, the Samsung Galaxy S WILL NOT be coming to T-Mobile anytime soon.....


T-Mobile is a great company but they really need to get on the ball with their phones.

Come June 4th I am picking up my HTC EVO 4G, porting my number over and leaving T-Mobile.

Good thing is my girlfriend remains a T-Mobile user so if they do eventually get the Galaxy S she can get it.

Sorry but gossip from sales rep is far from official word...nice try. In fact I talked to a supervisor in tmo PDA department and galaxy s is coming for sure in late July early august which is also what source at samsung is saying but I admit that info from samsung changes daily and often times doesn't pan out I.e. 2.1 on the behold 2 which till recently even samsung employees thought was coming

What I meant by anytime soon was the JUNE 16th that everyone thought it was coming. Even if it does come in August that is not 'soon'.

And for your info my T-Mobile rep's word is a more reliable source than rumors and speculation on the net......

It's all good though...I was just hoping it would arrive in close time of the EVO launch so I could choose...now there's no turning back on the EVO for me.

That is kind of hard to believe after hearing rumours of a T-mobile Pairing with samsung to bring a phone to Tmo nothing else would match the hype.

but then i've been thinking about waiting to see if the samsung galaxy A was coming - smaller screen, slower chipset (720mhz) but i actually prefer a small handset

the A is supposed to have a 3.7" display, which puts it a little larger than my Mytouch 3G's display, and it's actually pretty decent

i've been hearing that it will come out in july, of course it's not gonna be in any store's system yet!

Sorry guys, don't mean to cause any tension with my thread....I want this phone as badly as you guys do...I was just so disappointed that everyone, myself included, got all worked up over this June 19th date only to find out that it won't happen.

I have been seeing reports on the speed of the Galaxy S, it is truly an amazing phone, not too far off from the N1 on froyo which is truly remarkable.

Never has any one phone caused such an emotional rollercoaster for me...lol....

I did however get a definite word from someone who is responsible for buying the phones for T-Mobile, the Galaxy S WILL definitely come to T-Mobile, but he stated it would NOT be in June......July/August if anything...I know that's not as soon as we'd like but that's great news.


With all this speed and graphic test results coming out I am tempted to cancel my reservation for the HTC EVO 4G and wait for the Galaxy S cause I know it will be worth it.

i used hd2 for couple days...... NOT GOOD AT ALL!!! windows mobile is just so so useless comparing to android... hardware wise it's AWESOME!! i guess that's why htc mad evo 4g LOL but i will still get the galaxy s though

Low level reps never know anything until the time is closer. Keep in mind that the "leaked" release date is July 21. You said yourself that reps receive training on phones a month in advance for new phone releases. June 21 would be that date. It's June 9.


And more importantly, my source is at the corporate level and gave me the heads up on this information 2 weeks before any of this news was released. I will believe him over some low level retail salesmen.

June 19th is a free smart phone day June 24th or 29th samsung host an event regarding galaxy s. July 21st suspected day of release for the galaxy s on tmo. Nothing far-fetched about that.

Fixed, and I think is pretty accurate for T-Mo. I would be shocked if AT&T didn't launch on the 18th of July, give or take a week.

I really don't think AT&T is going to get this first if all don't get released at the same time especially with them having the iPhone and that horrendous new data plan. It would move more on tmobile on day one because everyone has been waiting for tmobile to get something good. 4inches of Super AMOLED. superb I say.
