video call on sprint hero (fring)

i have two heros and one evo. video call works on all. it works better on one hero than the other i cant find out why it does but it does. it uses the back camera on the hero. YouTube - Cam-2010-06-07 19-14-26.mov both are rooted. sorry for sideways view

Not sure because both of my hero were already rooted before I install it.

lol, video calling wouldn't be as useful without the front camera but it still could have some uses I suppose. Or get a big enough mirror and position it behind the hero to reflect your image???

I have used fring on my hero but only over wifi and phone doesnt have to be rooted.
When i first got fring it said video chat not supported... went into settings of fring and checked box to have video call.
Used fring to skype with video on and it connected with speaker phone on and video show up and played very well after bout 30 seconds seemed like it had to load...

Me and my sister are trying to get Fring to work but are having trouble. We both set up our accounts and both checked the box to allow video calls. So how do we actually make the video calls?

When I scroll down to her number, it gives me 3 options, "cellular, SkypeOut, and SIP".
I can use Cellular but it only calls her, not video call. The other 2 options are greyed out. Help please?

I have the same setup on the Hero, my wife has it setup on her Droid Eris. Cellular only option, others greyed out. Do we need a helper app?

I got some success, poor sound quality but that might have been a bluetooth needing to be charged.
Start Fring
press menu, select add friend, add from your phone list
Apparently Fring needs to be turned on on both phones, otherwise I got a message on fring that friend is offline in fring

I might have misled you on adding the friend. Fring will need the Fring user name to add. It will ask for this.

Your right. If your looking at your screen to see them then they can't see you,lol. Our camera lenses is on the back. They made you feel Like you were wrong, that's funny. I made an account just to write this. But yeah If you both had heros then both of you would need to be in front of a mirror.

I just tried it and it works, but my video freezes after a few seconds while the audio runs just fine.
