"Low on space" notification doesn't go away

My phone storage is nearly full so there's a constant notification saying "phone storage space is getting low".

Isn't that what memory cards are for? I don't get it.

I had the same problem got rid of a load of apps that I really liked and it was still there. Figured out ut was my emails, in particular my trash folder which I had been neglecting to empty. Now its fine. Hope this helps.

It's referring to the phone's own internal memory, not the SD card.

You can free up space by uninstalling some apps, or clearing the cache of apps like the browser and so on (I think there are apps on the market to do that for you).

remember to reboot your phone after uninstalling apps so that it'll completely clear out the memory

if you root your phone, you can use a feature called apps2sd. This automatically moves all apps to the sd card. As a result running villainrom 10 i have over 130 meg free on the phone itself, and never get that warning any more!

To empty email trash, when viewing emails select menu, folders, trash, menu then delete. You should do this for each email account if you have more than one

Hi there,

I'm new here and I had this problem until yesterday. I read a lot of solutions in Internet, like cleaning delvik-cache (thtat will be recreated at next start-up), cleaning apps caches, but nothing worked, I still had just 18 MB free!!
I've decided to explore /data partition with linux "du" command and surprise, there was 14 MB in "/data/local/tmp", and like its name suggest, these are Temporary files!!. Now I have 30 Mb free space!

Solution with ADB:

# adb shell
# cd /data/local/tmp
# rm *

I think this tmp files weren't deleted because I use to use "Advanced Task Killer".
I wish you luck with this procedure.

My notification ended up being too many text message threads. I uninstalled apps, moved apps to my SD, cleared data, deleted trash folders...but nothing worked until I deleted my TM threads.

Agreeing with a previous comment, I went into mail, then clicked menu, then folders and cleared them all out one at a time. !! Make sure you download your mail first, else it will be GONE!!

After the phone deleted over 2000 trash and sent emails that it was saving somewhere, the low on space message went away. I am in day two, have loaded back all the apps I had dumped trying to regain space and all still seams just fine.

I hope I am right and hope this helps someone else - it is an easy fix.

I did everything you did to clean up space nothing. Happened so. I took out the SD card and waited 5 minutes put SD card back info

and the low space logo went off.

Non of this helpd me at all. I read everything and tried everythig but i still hav that message. I deleted some apps but kept the ones i use often. I dont use messaging so that doesnt matter. I dont get it! this is my 3rd day with this phone and it says im running out of space already!!!
