Evo vs incredible..im torn

I have both devices, but i dont know which one to keep. my incredible is a hair faster and it flows a little bit better. the Evo is great but the internal memory and screen response bothers me a bit. Both sprint and Verizon have great service in my location.. Another thing, Sprint would save me 25 bucks a month..help i want to make a decision soon

I have an incredible but i've had my hands on an evo and owned an HD2 for a while, so i can comment on both i think.

The Incredible is a bit faster, i think that its better optimized somehow. Perhaps some sprint bloatware?

The Evo is bigger, has a larger screen, but its the older style TFT LCD and isn't as crisp and saturated and bright.

The Incredible has that 8gb internal memory which is nice and i love the AMOLED screen.

The final decision was made because in my area, Verizon's coverage is superior to Sprint's and i really don't like the reports saying that using Wi-max, a major selling point of the phone, MURDERS your battery.

Go with which one feels right to you, but i decided on the Incredible in the end. Good luck to you sir!

To me, it appears that although you are torn, you're leaning toward the EVO 4G. What will you use the phone for? How will you use it? Is money an issue? Is looks an issue? Those are very pertinent questions that only YOU can answer. I have the Incredible and love it. It was the only phone that has truly pryed me away from my beloved Blackberry. I love the look of the EVO 4G. It has that executive look like my Blackberry Bold 9000. Yet, after comparing the EVO & Incredible, there is little difference, depending on your viewpoint like others have stated. Having said that, go with the one that works best for you unless, of course, looks is your primary concern. If so, then go with the EVO. If not, the Incredible is the way to go, in my opinion, of course.

Dude, take the 25 bucks a month! Both phones are great and not too much different. Only a few like size, screen, snappiness like you said, and internal memory. Other than that not many differences.

Its your choice but if it were me, I'd take the money everytime. (Unless you don't need it then don't use money as a factor)
+1 if coverage is equal, save the month to month.

Don't forget that the EVO requires a $10 access fee for 4G data, even if you never use it or it's not available in your area. I would stay with the Incredible.

The EVO is a nice phone, but it's too big for me. Actually, it's really huge. These new Android phones that are coming out are becoming more and more tablet-like. The new pictures of the Droid X show it to be ENORMOUS - bigger than the EVO! I want a phone taht is more incredible-sized - screen is a good split between big enough to watch media on it and type comfortable, not too big where it's uncomfortable to type and carry and pocket, and not to small where you can't see what's happening on the screen.

Just my two cents. I don't really plan to videochat on my phone so that doesn't do much for me.

Edit: Another biggie for the Incredible is if you ever go on trips and such, Verizon's nationwide coverage is much better than Sprint's. I always have coverage on car trips with Verizon phones, even in the middle of nowhere.

I have both phones in my possession right now and have spending spending numerous hours running tests side by side (wife doesnt understand).

Anyway, every time I think I am ready to give up the Incredible, I change my mind. Yes, there is a speed difference. It flows much nicer and to be honest, although I love the bigger screen on the EVO, the form factor in the Incredible is excellent.

Sprint works at work, Verizon not so much. Outside of work, Verizon has the better coverage.

Playing games, again the Incredible seems to be a little slower...

I actually may end up keeping both (using Google Voice) since I am on a customer loyalty plan with Verizon.

Maybe after a couple more weeks I will have decided, but right now, I really dont want to part with either one!

I haven't used an EVO, but absolutely love my Incredible.

That said, for $25/month less for the EVO, I'd probably go that route unless I found the size too big for my comfort. I'd especially go EVO if you're in a 4G area. Just note with 4G, from both reviews and a friend of mine with the EVO in a 4G city, it hardly works indoors.

Then, as someone pointed out, depending on how often you travel, Verizon definitely has far superior nationwide coverage.

Consider it a win-win. Really can't go wrong either way.

If you're the type that likes to root your phone, or if you think you might in the future, get the EVO. They've already rooted it and the developer community for Sprint phones is awesome (just look at all the ROM options for the Hero.) Also if Sprint & Verizon have about the same quality of service in your area you may as well go with the phone with a few more features and the cheaper carrier.

I just want to add this bit of info. Sprint has coverage everywhere Verizon has coverage. Also sprint has roaming agreements on Verizon towers etc. Don't be afraid of coverage being less than Verizon. I had Verizon for 10 years up untill 2008 when I switched to Sprint due to better price plans and uncrippled GPS on Sprint's phones.

You will get the same if not better service with Sprint as with Verizon. Sprint's price plans are much better than Verizon and you definetely get a LOT more for your money with Sprint. You get free Sprint Navigation (awesome), Sprint TV, Nascar, Sprint Football, etc. The EVO has a front facing camera for video chat/calls, (Incredible does not), a 4.3" screen, HDMI output for your videos and pictures movies, etc. Plus a bigger battery, smooth battery cover (incredible's is butt ugly). Sprint's 3G alone is faster than Verizon. I would give Sprint a try first and see how well it works in your area. You can cancel in the first 30 days with no penalty and get a full refund. But I'm sure you will be happy with Sprint and the HTC EVO.
