You can't figure that out since some of those aren't even real, lol. But one of the highest prefixes is yotta, which is *10^24, or a septillion. I've never had to deal with anything to that magnitude though. As an engineer, the highest prefixes I usually deal with is giga (billion), or sometimes tera (trillion).

I don't think they want to give out #'s because of the fact that it wouldn't be a true representation of the demand, due to all the shortages. Obviously VZW wants to boast a large number of sales if they were going to release it (low numbers typically might give the impression that the phone isn't selling too well), and due to restrictions on parts, that can't be done, whereas the Droid had plenty in stock and the numbers for that were enormous.

Another competitor, which is lagging behind in many ways, counts shipped to store units as "sold". They do not count "actually in customer hands" as sold.

Same with MD, they weren't sold until they were customer sold. If you are trying to compare rotten apples, it's not going to happen.

Let me make this simple for you, Incredible = major parts shortage = no selling (whether it be a new customer or just to the store for retail sale); Droid = no parts shortage = sell, sell, sell. So, from VZW's prospective, you have what is supposedly an incredibly droid (in the eyes of the average consumer) that can't outsell the regular droid (again, in the eyes of the normal customer who doesn't know there is a shortage), which would not look good.

I think they may be alluding to Sprint reporting the EVO was sold out, but they were referring to sold-in to channels and not customers. There are still plenty of EVOs, just not at Best Buy. They got the short stick on allocations.

They had 250,000 at launch at the stores, with another 100,000 held aside for pre-orders.

Until the samsung AMOLED shortages, my local corporate stores were getting shipments of 5 twice a week.

Given that 250,000 were at stores, and the average per store was 10, i'd estimate that Verizon was getting another 250,000 per week shipped to stores.

A friend of mine is a GM at a corporate store and they got 2 weeks of shipments until the supply dried up.

We KNOW they sold the initial batches right away and as far as i know, all subsequent shipments got snapped up right away as well.

So for sure, 350,000 at bare absolute minimum.

I get what you and the others are saying (except for the mr clean guy) can see why they would release the numbers yet. But even with the shortages you know its prolly already sold more than the N1. Plus since release practically all units sold have had to be back ordered. Was hoping there was a site that i could look this info up.

Sounds like how Sirius use to count their subscriptions. Before the merger a unit was activated at the factory, so Sirius would count it as an active sub even though it was just sitting on a lot somewhere.
