but I really fn love this device! I know there are users that are having problems that vary from battery life to build quality, but in my very humble opinion, this device rocks!

I've owned several different smartphones over the years and I left Blackberry (8900) for this device...something I thought I would never do and have ZERO regrets. The OS is freaking awesome...I mean the Droid commercial saying that when there is no limit to what Droid gets, there is no limit to what Droid does, is all day true! I mean, I've been really learning this device for over a week and I often ask myself, what can this device not do?!

The apps in the market are plentiful and amazing, the stock browser (which I went back to after using Dolphin HD) is fast...yeah I wish it had tabs, but I can live with using the windows button, the look and feel of the UI is downright amazing, the camera takes great pics (I set my ISO at 200 and that seems to be a good all-around setting) and the overall build is excellent.

Voice turn by turn navigation on a freaking mobile device with a 4.3 inch screen, two choices of navigation, and both are free...do I really need to say anymore?!

Then there is the fact that it smokes my 8900 in speed. It even does email better than I ever expected. Ask any Blackberry user how rendering an email felt...to me it was a pain in the ass. On this device, my email looks the way it should have all along...like it does on a desktop or laptop. It makes me not have a real need to use my laptop very often. Which coming from a physical keyboard to a touch keyboard had me a bit concerned. But a keyboard app (shapewriter), killed that concern and I can crank out messages even faster.

And after a few recommended tweeks found in this forum, my battery life has been on par with what I experienced on my 8900...which makes me a happy camper. I will add that charging my device while I sleep has always been a habit for me, no matter the device. Either way, I'm happy with the daily use I get out of it. If I have a slow day and play with it heavily, I have a USB charger that solves that problem...no worries.

Where I reside, I get great 3G and 4G coverage...even in my house...although I rarely use the 4G side. But coming from a 2G device, I really have no reason to complain if I didn't have great 4G coverage...the 3G speeds I get are waaaay better than what I had before this device.

The peer support for this platform is awesome as well.

Last, I've always been a savvy kind of shopper, but this device helped me score a great deal on a router (which works with my EVO now). With the app barcode scanner (which I've used the Blackberry version before) and the fact that the sales rep had a G1 with a custom ROM, helped me get a great deal when he saw me whip out the EVO..now if that's not good, I don't know what is.

And after all this, it will only get better when the OTA for 2.2 is pushed out...out-fn-standing!
