Post Launch Evo Issues Only Did You buy after 6/11/10? We Want You!

OK since we can assume most of the first batch of Evos are long gone in peoples hands I want to find out if batch #2 people are having the same issues with there units like light leaks screen delamination in the corners etc etc. This will greatly help the first batch people into deciding if they should opt out for a newer phone with less defects or not. If the same issues are cropping up in batch #2 then its really senseless to swap the phones out and we may just have to live with some of these issues for awhile. Remember list your issues only if you purchased on or after Friday June 11th 2010. Thanks

I can't imagine the second batch that is out a week after launch would really have any differences in manufacturing to those available at launch. Maybe a month or two down the road, but not a week after.

And I should mention that my launch day phone doesn't have any of those issues that have been reported so we really don't know how many phones are affected or if they are isolated cases.

See you cant assume the first batch was made just prior to launch. some of these handsets could have been made as early as March/April and stock piled until launch. The ones coming in now are going to be fairly fresh from the factory so this is why im curious as to the quality. Don't forget the conference give away handsets some of the first retail batches could have come from here as well.

Oh I agree, but since that first batch hasn't been in use widespread until launch to see what some of the issues might be, they wouldn't have had time yet to change anything in the manufacturing process. But yeah, they could have tweaked some things I suppose.

Edit: Anyway, sorry, didn't mean to ambush your thread. Was just giving my thoughts :)

Again, I was the first Evo sale at my Sprint store June 4. My cover is black rubberized. Please stop posting misinformation.

The thread is aimed at seeing if exchanges and new fresh shipments have similar issues as some of the first. Really no need for you to post twice saying yours is from launch day with no problems, and being rude to a Forum member asking a question. Maybe best to keep it moving...

So anyway, let's here it guys and gals, any new found, same, or non issues with the 2nd wave.

Evo I got on launch day had major light leakage and terrible battery life Evo I got 3 days later has no light leakage and excellent battery life. Also the second Evo had different looking battery so there is 2 different models.

Yeah there is a thread that shows there are two different batteries and there are also 2 different branded sd cards that they come with, either samsung or sandisk.

I went to RS on Thursday and paid a $50 deposit. They called at 3:30 on Friday and told me to come in and pickup my EVO. I have none of the problems listed in these forums. Everything works just as I expected it to. No light leaks, battery at 60% after 13.75 hours. Bluetooth with works with my car (Kia Soul) system perfectly.

Try looking under your function keys in total darkness see if you have any patches of light between the screen and the outer frame.

I think it would be easier to just make a poll with 4 options, and have people post their questions to clarify before voting...unless this thread gets 7,000 replies and someone wants to go through every post and make a spreadsheet :

Bought BEFORE June XX and NOT HAVING issues
Bought BEFORE June XX and HAVING issues
Bought AFTER June XX and NOT HAVING issues
Bought AFTER June XX and HAVING issues.

Just my $0.02. :)

I completely agree. We need someway to get though all of this info, because it's all over the place in different forums, different posts, ect. It's a huge mess.

I'm one of those people waiting for the later batches before I buy. I went through the pre launch and even though I got lucky with my launch day pre(still with me) I read all the horror stories of the launch hardware issues. I don't think the evo has gotten remotely close to that debacle but I really want to avoid the chance of getting a unit with poor quality control. I will be keeping tabs of this thread very closely.
