It is the "fix" put out that may fix a couple of things like lag and BT, but there are conflicting reports. It does take away the ability to Root.

No, this does not factory reset the phone. It's a very fast 3MB update.

In my phone, there is still a lag with placing calls. I don't notice a lag with much of anything else, other than using the People to send text or place calls. Everything else is cool. I'm pretty much expert level with PC's and such, but, I'm a little afraid to root my phone which is why I let the the OTA update proceed in the first place.

If your a very fast typer you will notice lag at times. I am mediocre with my typing speed and I dont have any issues. I went ahead with this update and really didn,t notice anything better but if I keep my Hero a little further away from me my BT issues are less noticeable, not sure why that matters but it cuts out alot less if its just a little more than arms length from me than sitting on lap.

Several tech reps (Jasmine, Tanya and Becky) all told me that they were releasing it tomorrow. I can post chat transcripts if you want... Then they each said, "Tomorrow never comes." but I am sure that was unrelated...
