Will Eris OS 2.1 ever be rooted?

The devs over at xda are trying to replicate the Droid Incredible rooting method (as well as still trying many others). Check it out:

I'm sure EVERYONE (especially the 2.1 leakers) will hear when there is something successful to report.

All I know is I have some money set aside to donate to the dev who finally cracks the 1.49 HBOOT for root.

Thanks for the link scary alien but it never took off sadly. Since no devs are working on root I would like to try. I font know much so if any one has ideas on ways to root this boot loader or atleast point me in the right direction ill try to get this thing rooted for us. If I brick my phone I have insurance.
