Help Find things near you (restaurants, shops etc)

Places Directory (quickest/easiest for places closest to your gps location) Not as refined as Where.

Where (best for looking for something more than a mile or two away) Lots of categories/subcategories. Must have app.

Layar (best to impress) Interface can be maddening, but it is cool as heck downtown.

You can also just use maps/google, but it isn't as slick/easy.

The newest update to Where added this cool feature that allows you to add search shortcuts to your home screen. For example, I have a Pizza shortcut on my home screen and when I launch it, I go directly to a list of pizza places near my current location.

I'll second Places Directory, it's a great app for finding anything

Urbanspoon is by far the best for restaurants though. It will let you sort by place, price, style, give you ratings, even let you make reservations as of the newest update.
