Help Sprint replies to the screen separation issue.

Update: Here’s a comment from Sprint.
“We have seen this reported online. We understand from HTC that it has not replicated the issue internally and is working to acquire a device with this reported issue. Until HTC investigates further, we can’t make a definitive statement on the root cause.”

LOL im sure HTC can find a device on this issue from this forum =) Or maybe everyone with the issue should really start sending them back to HTC.

hmm... like most people I didn't have any separation issues until a week or so of using it. now i've got light bleeding out from the first 3 buttons, worst on the left side under the home key.

hopefully this is dealt with and fixed so I can go get mine replaced with a unit that stays together. seriously. dust under a screen has to be the bane of my existence. I became quite adept at taking the motorola razr apart and cleaning the screen on a weekly basis because of how much dust it gathered.

They have different hardware versions of Evo. I wouldn't be surprised if the batch that ships out this week is v4.

I doubt that there is only one factory somewhere in China churning out Evo's. Perhaps this screen separation issue (closely related to/causes light leakage) can be confined to one manufacturing plant somewhere skimping on the glue.

Well hopefully they have a version out within the next 3 weeks so I can actually get one without flaws and before my 30 days are up. Haha.

If it's considered a manufacturer defect most stores give the consumer 90 days for a replacement or possible refund in addition to the standard 30 day any reason, no questions asked policy. I know Radio Shack is one of them. Even with that HTC gives a one year warranty, not to mention optional Sprint insurance, so those of us with the issue will have plenty of options as long as they address the problem.

yup i got TEP and BB Black Tie

And ive already switched my first one out for a new one (very minor light leaks now as opposed to very bad light leak and very squishy bottom screen on first)

As long as they address the adhesive issue so when this one gets worse

I just wanna go and replace it and not have to worry about it happening again and again and again

(as i plan to get rid of the black tie protection in 1 or 2 months)

It's more then 5%...and I will do 2 exchanges at the most to try and get a good built one. If best buy calls me later, I'm exchanging it, and if that one begins to fault, I'll wait until my 30 days are almost up and try one more time. If it still exists, I'll return for a full refund, cancel Sprint and wait for the Shadow!

I know a guy who works at the biggest and busiest best buy near me. He is a complete phone geek. I was asking him about this problem yesterday to see how many people have complained or returned the phone because of buils quality issues. He actually has an evo also and told me flat out that not a single return for these issues from the 3 closest store that he has access to. Now i am not saying anyone is lying for having this issue. And i understand why it would be a concern if mine had this. I would be pretty upset over it. A little light may not bother me much. But if i saw actual screen lifting then that completely different. There may be something geographically associated with a bad batch also. I live in the Mid Atlantic region. So maybe shipments to a different part of the country may be affected differently.

I wish the best to all that had their experience ruined by this. It's a shame that something like this has tarnished the image and enjoyment of the best phone on the market.

I dont think people who have bad one can really say everyone will. Because if the manufacturing process is what caused this instead of a design flaw then we cant know. If its the amount of glue placed in the bottom of the screen then the possibility does exist for some variations in the production.

I actual have 1 stuck pixel in my display. But other then that i dont have any other problems. I am now afraid to return it and get another one because of the problems other have. My battery is good. My speaker is good. I may just live with that pixel. Its so small and i have to look for it to notice anyway.

If the lcd and touch screen are sealed off does this mean light may be able to leak out but dust cannot get in?
I think the sprint reply was something to the tune of the lcd panel being sealed off.

I dont know. Just asking.

But cant the brightness the lcd produces shine light through without their being an actual opening for dust? Like when you hold a flashlight up to you hand and you can see light leaking through on the other side of your hand. But nothing can truly pass through your hand...

If dust could get through should we have a lot of people posting dust under the screen pics in the bottom of their screens?

Again. I am not asking question i already know the answer to just to argue with someone on a message board. i am really curious if anyone knows if the lcd is sealed off so even if light leaked through then dust couldnt get in.

There is one problem with your friends observation, How can anything be exchanged if there is no stock? They have not been In stock since the weekend of the 4th. Wait till they get stock in, then ask him how many returns he did.
