Root Control APN

The problem with this is that our phones (Verizon/Sprint/Cricket/Alltel/etc) use CDMA network and not GSM networks.

GSM networks use APNs to talk to their networks (literally, hundreds of APNs are in their APN list, or thousands).

CDMA networks like Verizon don't REALLY use APNs at all (or you could say that APN is a misnomer for what we use them for). The only way your phone uses APNs is to decide which server to talk to when sending/receiving MMS (Picture messages).

So no, unfortunately, Juice Defender will still not do much of anything for us yet!

Once the developer comes up with a way to turn off Mobile Network (much the same way HTC SenseUI ROMs can turn it off with a widget), Juice Defender will be the BEST thing to use to save battery, period!

from what ive heard, cyanogenmod roms are supposed to be working with juice defender.

try white widow, cyanogeneris, or CLB

I just came across this, and was about to post the same thing.

Lightning Bolt is perfect, stable, the soft keys light up, MMS works, built in zanfur overclocking, JIT's, and fast as can be - as good as AOSP roms get. It's the only AOSP ROM that's made me WANT aosp.

If only it was anywhere near as smooth as senseUI scrolling left/right on home screens (and so on), I would permanently switch.

Unfortunatley, Juice Defender is a no go on these SenseUI ROMs, but I personally recommend LB if you're looking. I'm sure they're all good. Cyanogen stuff is great.
