now this is solely about the audio quality from the headphone jack

now im just wondering, does anyone believe that there is a sound quality difference between their motorola milestone/droid and their ipod touch

ive been doing a little testing and im kinda feeling like there is, im no expert, but does anyone else feel liek there is?

Haven't really physically compared the two. But I've really noticed, mostly with aftermarket headphones, that the sound quality is still quite good, not the greatest, but its just not as loud as other phones it seems. Not a great deal, but for me who works in a shop, its nice to have an earbud in that'll drown out some air guns and hammers banging. And I'm a little dissapointed in the adjustability of the sound too, but it still sounds awesome. Oh and wouldn't you think that an mp3 player would have a littler more precised hardware built for sound quality, I don't know if I could compare them in the phone category, mp3 players at least.

Depends what kind of audio equipment you use... I can tell the difference plugging into my car, but it's not a terrible difference.

When I switch to my $150 Super Fi 5 Pros it's pretty noticeable. Even more on my TF 10 Pros. The Milestone loses by a lot at that point. It seems as if plugging into my MacBook Pro would be better.

That said, there's stuff better than the iPod like Cowon devices and stuff, but the iPod is certainly very well built in the SQ department. Not many phones come close. Maybe the Nokia 5800, but all other phones are meh.

I use my Milestone with my Sennheiser MX980 earbuds and my Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9 headphones and I would not say the HO is bad.
