Battery charged in Hero now works great?

So my battery life was pretty poor, i'd be lucky to get 5-8 hours with minimal use and playing around with 4G on occasion. I tried my wives Hero battery to see if it made a difference.. it didn't seem to. So after her phone charged my battery up I swapped back. Now with normal use, playing music with it in the car, browsing the web on occasion, doing speed tests 3G/4G, couple hours of phone calls, some games, messing around with the LEDs as a flash light i'm still at 30% with 1 Day 4 hours unplugged. What the heck happened with her phone charging my battery!? What an improvement! I made no other changes on the phone besides that. I'll see if after my own phone charges the battery if this lasts or if perhaps there is an issue with the phone charging the battery. Pretty odd, just thought i'd share and see if anyone has any ideas what could be happening.

Another trick to accomplish the same thing is to click your fingers 4 times, then stand on 1 leg and spin around 3 times (counterclockwise). :D

Maybe you have a bad charger. Which phone or what charger shouldn't make any difference. Charging current is charging current no matter what device it comes from. It might take longer or shorter to charge but it's the same "juice."

Does it have to be counterclockwise? Haha.

Well I've charged it via computer, and my car charger previously. Didn't seem to make any difference what charged it. Like you said current is current. It has always indicated my battery is full as well. Just don't get it. I'm gonna see just how long it lasts then charge it up again. I'll post my results.

Ended up taking a bunch of photos at the beach and doing some speed tests battery really held in there but was done at 1 day 9 hours and something. Pretty impressive. My phone charged my battery last night so we will see if it holds the same today. If not guess i'll be charging my phone with the screen on? Haha.

Well, if juice is juice, then how could it be a bad charger if it is providing juice?

The phone can definitley make a difference in how the battery charges. Something has to monitor the battery status and cut off the juice when the charge is complete. It can be done through a hard coded battery monitoring chip, or through software, but, either way, it is the phone that is controling the charging process.

how can i keep the screen on!!! where is the option

You can set the device to stay on only while charging, and you can also set it to never turn off. When each of these options are set the device will not turn off, but will dim. If the device is charging it will dim but not turn off unless unplugged from the charger, then it will revert back to the time out setting if a time limit is set. To set the screen to never turn off: 1. Tap Settings 2. Tap Sounds & Display 3. Tap Screen Timeout 4. Set the time limit for the screen to turn off. To set the screen to stay awake only while charging: 1. Tap Settings 2. Tap Applications 3. Tap Development 4. Then check Stay Awake

I might have to retract my claim of improved battery life after charging with the screen on. Although it did seem to work for me twice, it no longer seems to work like it did. I'm running my phone dead tonight, and I'm going to charge it overnight with the screen on. It really annoys me because my battery has gone for 5 hours before and gone down to only 80%. Now, under the same usage, I'm at 40%.

There's either an issue with the battery indicator, or my battery is just that bad.

To do a complete comparison you would need to do exactly the samething 2 days in a row.... Same emails, same number of calls and or min used. Taking pics/vid. Browsing the internet. IF you receive an email with more HTML and pics it will use more data which will eat more battery. This would be the only true way to check and see how much better your battery is from one day to the next as a test.

Well I mean this has to boil down to there is something wrong with the way my phone charges the battery. Is this an issue other people are having as well with their poor battery life? I'm not sure. I'm going to keep trying different things. Right now i'm charging my phone with the Hero charger. I think the problem lies in the phone but I don't want to rule anything out. I used it above average/heavy and got 24 hours more battery life than today where my battery lasted about 8 hours under very light use. The last 5% lasted me about 30 seconds while playing music. It popped up and alerted me I had 5% remaining. Not even 30 seconds later my phone automatically turned off. That doesn't seem right.

Anyone else have a Hero and an Evo with bad battery life who wants to give it a shot? Maybe this is just a fluke but if there is something wrong with the way the Evo's are charging their batteries maybe there could be a fix.
