Help Attaching Word/Excel Doc to GMail Message to Send?

root explorer does allow you to do it. Long pressed a PDF file I have on the SDCard, and in the menu was a Send item. Pressed that and it brought up a whole slew of apps - including GMail.

So I went back to eStrongs, and noticed that if I long pressed the same file, although I cannot see it, there are items that are below the listed ones that I have to scroll to get to. The next to the last one is Send. so I pressed it, and Lo! And behold! - 2 items appear, Bluetooth and GMail.

So, I retract my previous statement - eStrongs DOES support sending files through GMail.

So, while Astro does show up as an option within Gmail's attach function, when I navigate to any location where I have documents saved, none of them are visible through the 'pop-up' that Gmail creates via Astro. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm pretty sure this just started happening, as I know've attached Word docs many times like this. I removed Astro about a week ago, and reinstalled today.

Of course, I can choose the 'send' option through any file explorer, but that doesn't cut it when I have an email I've already composed.

Thanks for any insight here.

I had all the same problems, I'm using cheap 10" arnova for comfortably reading/writing emails ( and, well, the angrybirds:) For documents I'm using kingsoft office, love it overall but haven't figured out yet how to tune it to gmail. After reading the thread, accidentally tried gmail on opera mobile, and vouala! It works, it allows you to attach any file, just as you would on your desktop pc! Ofcourse it rather ugly looking, but I'm sure they are working on that:)
