I am sure that this question has been asked many times, however I have not found an answer that suites my needs. Before I list what I have already tried, I have about 6,700 contacts, 1,200 calender events, 105 notes, and 50 or so tasks. Also, I can't delete any of my contacts because I need them for work.

I have gotten my calender set up pretty well using the software from google to sync the calender and outlook but I don't have a program for anything else (contacts, tasks, or notes)

I want to sync my HTC Evo with outlook. I have tried the HTC sync software and it sucks, companionlink lags when trying to sync the contacts. The dejaoffice android program would take about an hour to update the contacts every time I sync my phone. I have also tried go contact sync and sync2 to get my contacts to sync with google contacts and all of the programs can't handle my large amount. Some of the programs have even deleted contacts out of outlook without my permission and they are gone forever.

Does anyone have any ideas that could help me to get this to work? I really need to get this fixed as soon as possible. Thanks.

I really can't help you with your question however, since you are playing with apps that can delete information from your Outlook, how come you didn't backup all your Outlook data before messing with it?

I actually did make a backup so I was able to get some back, but not the newest ones.

If you get an answer to this, please let me know. I'm in the same situation. Look at Pimlical from the makers of DateBk for Palm. New software for Android. GREAT company and I'm hopeful this will be my long-term answer. Please keep in touch!

I have not tried that yet. I just found gsyncit which is a trial and only syncs 20 contacts, but so far it is working pretty well. I might buy it. I'll let you know how it goes.

I am in the same situation... I bought gsyncit and was able to transfer my contacts and notes to google and google docs. With the address book, I notice that I can't (or least I don't know how) search by company. I used to switch to this on my windows mobile phone for people who I didn't remember, but knew where they work.

For the notes, I'm still trying to figure out how to use it reliably on the phone. I've downloaded every app that I could find, but here is my problem... my current app is gdocs. It will read my notes from google docs, but it doesn't seem to save to my phone. everytime i go out of the phone KI kinda have to start over. I want to be able to save my notes in certain folders and organise them and have them on my phone. Reason is, if I need to access any of them and there is no internet connection then I think I'm SOL.

Evernote and springpadit seem like good apps, but it appears that you need internet to access them and I'm not sure if you can save them to the phone. If anyone knows a app that will work, let me know...

If you never change your notes after they are made, then why not use a program like Outport: Outport - Obligatory Screenshot to export them as individual txt items and import them into one of the dozens of note programs that Android has in the market. I'm using ultra note and it is working great. I still have yet to do the contacts. I am getting a new computer in the next couple of days so after that, I'll buy gsyncit and let you know how it goes for me.

I'll give that a shot and see how it goes... for now I just want to transfer existing notes to my phone and be able to save them there (i don't know if I can do that with Gdocs) then file them in folders.

Later, I want to be able to make notes, but I can do that with Gdocs, still trying to figure out this thing though...

Thanks for the input guys, I've posted on other forums, but this one seems to be more responsive!

The only problem that I ran into with Outport was that it appended some information to the top of the file so I had to go through each one and delete it. Other than that, the program works great if no changes are going to be made to them.

On another note, what is a trackback? It is an option when posting this message so I was wondering what it was. Something with a URL or something. If anyone knows, let me know please.

Okay, after trying 3 different "notes" programs, I FINALLY found one that suits my needs... I'm using note everything now. As previously mentioned, gdocs was basically online and I couldn't figure out how to get them to my phone... then I started using AK notes, which was very nice with the online aspect, my problem with this one (which I found out after tranfering everything into different folders) was that it only alphabetized EVERYTHING. So, my individual folders would not alphabetize.

I found note everything while playing with a droid X at the verizon store. It will sort BOTH folders and the notes inside! This was ALL I really wanted from the start, and am glad I have found it. Not sure if there is a online tracking and editing, but for what I have now, it does what I was using notes for on my windows phone... whew!!!!
