Anyone watch Microsoft's E3?

Nothing much to announce in the way of games.
- except for black ops, gears 3, halo reach, metal gear solid and forza just to name a few.

A new Xbox that aside from Wifi is the same as the old one.
- except it has a smaller form-factor, sleeker look, better cooling, bigger HDD, more I/O ports, runs quieter, and costs the same as an elite. the cost of the hdd and wifi alone makes it a worthwhile buy.

A PS2 Eye-Toy copy.
- not even gonna elaborate on this one. i'm not completely sold on kinect myself but that's a ridiculous comparison to make.

A subscription based ESPN tie-in for Xbox Gold subscribers.
- except it's free, so what subscription are you talking about? plus it'll be nice to have. I personally keep my xbox in a room with no cable/satellite so this gives me a way to watch games I'd otherwise miss.

Hopefully Sony and Nintendo will have something more worthwhile...
- The only thing I want out of those two is something big on their mobile platforms (PSP and DS)

eye toy the kinect isnt, and while i agree that i'm not sure i would buy it the thing does have some pretty cool things going for it. the eye toy was a joke, a webcam, this thing looks to have good functionality to it.

as for the xbox 360 slim (lmao, is that what its called?) i think the new console design looks bad ass, its supposed to vent heat much better while being much quieter. as its been said the hard drive space and built in networking alone is more than enough reason to get it.

Couldn't agree more. I'll have to get myself a Nano router now lol.

It was horrible. Sony wasn't too far behind with their countless montages and games we've already seen.

Keven Butler was funny though.

Nintendo won E3 this year. The 3DS stole the show.

3DS is overhyped, and nobody has seen one working. When it fails to deliver, the hype will carry it forward.

Sony delivered games hardware and the PSN+ (which looks incredible value, with 48 free games a year for $50, in addition to X-Game chat, 1hr DRM trials of all PSN content, access to betas, and the autoupdate service). Make Xbox Live and it's charges look a total joke.

I think it's safe to say that you are a Sony fanboy. All of these features that you just proclaimed make PS3 > 360 (already has) should have been implemented a very very very long ago.

in addition to X-Game chat
So, you are paying $50 to have something that should've been implemented months ago?

Access to betas
I'll give you that but truthfully, how many worthwhile betas come out annually?

Auto-update service
This has to be a joke. Dude, Sony should have been auto-updating since the get-go.

Make Xbox Live and it's charges look a total joke
In essence, you are paying the same amount the avg XBL-G subscriber pays to have practically the same thing we have with the exception to beta access aka not worth it.

PS: I say avg subscriber b/c I don't pay 49.99 for mine.. I get all my cards off of eBay for much much cheaper

No, paying $50 for ALL that, including 48 free games a year (4 a month). I don't think XboxLive offers ANYTHING like that....

I stopped using my Xbox when the games dried up, and Xbox Live only really offered Party Chat over PSN (but PSN offered iPlayer,Home, Vidzone and a tonne of other services).

In my eyes, the Fanboys are those that defend Microsoft for charging $50 a year for a sub-par P2P gaming network, for launching their console prematurely before they got it working, before they added features like 1080p and HDMI, for defending them by screwing consumers over by supporting HD DVD (not because it was in consumers interests, but because it supported Toshiba against Sony). How many gamers will they screw over with the latest model, before the Blu-Ray equipped model arrives (at which point they dump on all the existing Xbox360 owners). Of course they will claim that Blu-Ray is not needed, but then they have to don't they? The PS3 exclusives speak for themselves, they destory the Xbox exclusives because it has a consistent storage setup across the range (EVERY PS3 has Blu-Ray, EVERY PS3 has a hard drive, EVERY PS3 has free online gaming).

Seriously, how can ANYONE support Microsoft for making a console with over a 60% failure rate, that is just as broken as it was 5 years ago?

According to all of the blogs I've been reading, people have been amazed. How is it overhyped when it'll be the first implementation of 3D without glasses on a device such as the 3DS? Why don't TVs already have that technology if Nintendo can do something as simple as this? What blogs have you read that have said that it is not worth the hype?

Nobody has seen one working? Tell that to all of the demoers at E3. I'll give you several articles of people seeing it and actually giving it praise if you'd like. They're very easy to find.

I sense Nintendo hatred for them simply being them.

Please. I have only seen people talking about it that have not seen it (and several reports that Nintendo did not have any working samples at the show, and that they were showing nothing more than a concept and some mockup non-functioning models.

I've quit debating with the guy. He clearly only supports Sony products. He obviously believes by spewing garbage about other companies it makes his favorite company superior. He's entitled to his opinion but that doesn't make it correct.

Personally, I do think what Nintendo has done with the 3DS is extremely innovative but I just really have no reason to own a portable gaming device at the moment.

3D in games is still VERY much in its infancy. There's a long way to go, but at least Nintendo is making an effort to innovate. I'm sure the other 2 companies will follow, as they are with the Sony Wand and Microsoft Kinect. Nintendo isn't concerned with the whole "whose system is better". They're umm.. way beyond that and their fans are way beyond that. Just ENJOY what you have and hope that Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo will be here for a long time. I guess I should include Apple in the handheld platform. Sony has already lost there.

That is just pure nonsense, you just can't accept it when other people disagree with your opinion. It's also worth pointing out there is a very large ocean between us, and outside the good-ol USA, Microsoft does not have the media protected image that you see on your TV.

Infact, outside the protected world of the American blogs and in particular non-English speaking countries, outside of he reach of said American protective gaming blogs, Microsoft's gaming reputation is in tatters.

It's also rather telling that you didn't comment on my previous post, and took the usual fanboy escape route of running away.

Thanks, like I said all the reviews I had seen to date, nobody has seen a live one. It does turn out that the claims of PS3 quality graphics are utter tripe, as they IGN review itself states PS2, i.e PSP level graphics. However that myth will contine to circulate for years, and will pay dividends for many years to come for Nintendo.

http://www.itproportal.com/portal/n...intendo-3ds-portable-will-rival-ps3-graphics/

This tripe itself originates from the very same IGN, so I am suspicious it's some overzealous Nintendo reporting all this...

I'm also curious about your "Sony has already lost the handheld race to apple" fanboy comment.. As Sony have shifted 60m PSP consoles. Which ain't too shabby at all (not as good as Nintendo), but pretty respectable and vastly more than Apple has sold iPhones. (and have you seen how crappy iPhone games actually are...)

Congratulations to Sony for their big sales with the PSP. Grabbing 31% of the market is impressive, but since there are only 2 competitors... Nintendo with their 69% of the market certainly outshines it. It had been that way for how long now? What is Sony planning for the PSP? Nintendo sure isn't neglecting their handheld. Also, Apple is a new player in the handheld market... Its called iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. To say that they're nothing is turning an eye against a new competitor. Apple can do a lot in the gaming department with their App Store. They already have everyone beat in the mobile department. What's next? Think ahead 5 years and say that they will NOT be a good competitor.

I said that Sony has lost to Apple in the handheld market where? I said the handheld market in general, which is Nintendo. Before you go saying that I am a fanboy of one over the other is completely false. I have owned all 3, including the handhelds. I don't have any anymore because I have outgrown gaming but I live to see new innovations and progress in the industry, like I do with the cellphone and computer industries.
