Help MP3/ringtone question

Quick question for a droid newb.

I have a few short MP3's that are saved on my computer. I just emailed them to my gmail account. I pulled up the email on my Incredible and I figured I would just be able to save from there, then set as ringtone. The only option I have in Gmail is to preview the MP3. It seems to bring up the music app to preview but I don't see any option to save. Help please. Thanks.

Probably more ways than one to skin this cat to be honest, but not knowing what you have in the way of apps (in particular, other email options) one way to get this working is to hook up to the PC via the USB cable, make a folder on your SD card called Ringtones, and drop them in there. Then they'll show up in ringtone selection menus as available options.

Some people make a Ringtones subfolder in the Media folder, I just made a separate Ringtones folder on the root of the card and it works nicely as well.

Thanks but I totally forgot about bluetooth. I just sent them using bluetooth file exchange on my mac and it worked perfect. No need for cables!

ok, one more question. Now that they are on my phone I can't figure out how to change the file name. Can you do this?

I can go into properties but I can't change the file name or title in there. Do you have to do this with the phone plugged in the computer?

Download Astro File Manager if you don't already have it. Use it to navigate to your ringtone on the SD. When you get there, long press the ringtone and select edit. One of the options is to rename.
