HI All...
I bought my phone from radio shack and it's having issues with battery and random reboots as well as screen freezing. I know, the best thing to do is return the phone and get a replacement...but I have been checking all the radio shacks anywhere around me (I'm in chicago west burbs) and no one has one. I have talked to them about ordering it and they have agreed to order it but said it will probably be a few weeks till I can get the replacement because all incoming orders are already spoken for.

So my question is, has anyone had any luck getting it replaced by Sprint? And if so, did you go to the store, call them or what? I called them and the regular cs (*2) told me I had to go back to radio shack to get it until after the 30 days. I went to one sprint store and they told me to either go radio shack or call sprint. so I'm not getting anywhere.

I would really like to get this taken care of sooner than later, especially so that I can make sure the replacement is better before the 30 days is up but I'm not sure how to get it done.

Thanks!

I got mine on the 4th, noticed problems, and took it back on the 7th. Was told they would have extras with their next order (which was friday the 11th). I get a call that morning saying they only got pre-orders, nothing extra. Got a call yesterday saying I should have a replacement this Friday (the 18th). Hopefully....

It's not radio shack's problem. They have been really nice about it, and I have talked to 2 distric managers, both apoloogized for what is going on. It's sprint's fault for not sending them extras for people like me and you that need replacements.

I have done the hard reset and the rebooting has slowed (not 20 in hours but one every hour or so now)

I have pandora installed but it wasn't being used. I didn't install it after the hard reset after reading your post.

Every Radio Shack I talked with has been very nice...they can't give me something they don't have and I do understand that. I just hoped there was another way to go about this.

as far as the battery, I have followed all the advice on these threads and the sticky. I am starting to feel like tweaking this phone is a full time job :) I don't mind tweaking...I like that but it's frustrating when it doesn't lead to anything.

Now that I did the hard reset, I will try the charging thing again that people have said helps. It didn't do anything for me when I did it before but I'm willing to try again.

Thank you!

Unfortunately it sounds like a bad phone, hope your new replacement is like mine in which I thoroughly enjoy.

But even when you get your replacement following the advice for battery is crucial to get long life. With all that can run in the background and trying to keep that 4.3 display going it will eat up the battery.

I'd take it back now and get out of the deal. Wait 2x months and get a new phone.
If I could I'd get a Nexus and stay on Tmob. However since I did an immediate transfer to sprint and paid to break my contract if I give the phone back now I have no phone.

I'm really thinking about getting out of the Smartphone game and maybe picking up a normal phone and a dedicated portable media device. Heck my psp will go 3 days at least with no charge playing games and movies all day.

Steve J may have been on to something with multitasking killing the battery.

I just got my phone from Sprint a couple hours ago. I originally bought from RS, I went in there about the screen separation issues, and was basicly told they have none and to guarantee I get one I would have to pay the 50 dollar deposit again, ya right.
I called Sprint up and told them what happened, and they promptly sent one out.

My wife and I are both having "issues" and her's is being replaced on Friday at the local Radio Shack. The manager there called the DM and he got a replacement shipped from a store in another district.

I figure I'll wait until a new EVO comes in at RS before my 30 days are up. My wife deserves to be happy with her phone first and I can wait, anyway. If the 30 days pass, it becomes Sprint's problem (warranty) and I'll immediately call them or drop by the local repair center for a replacement.

If all else fails.....$7 insurance FTW.
