NBA Champions 2010 - Lakers

Good game for the Lakers TEAM. But this only adds a number to Kobe's stat list - his performance was a below subpar. Please don't put him amongst the best. He was completely outplayed by the likes of Artest and Pau in GM7 of the Championship Finals that was suppose to define his legacy. MJ, Magic, Bird... they all had significant impacts on their respective teams beyond the 'give-me' free throws and rebounding.
Sorry to be such a hater - I do think the Lakers deserved to win that game. They had a great comeback, and really showed clutch near the end.

Big deal. Kobe averaged 31 points per game in this series against one of the best defenses this modern era. He deserves every bit of this as much as the other guys!

I am not saying he isn't good... Kobe is a GREAT basketball player - probably the best his team has seen since the days of Magic. He is just not on the level of the other guys I mentioned. Com'on - the guy shot 6/24 tonight. At half time he was 3/16. The Celtics were playing some great defense... but does that justify the poor shot selection in the first place? The guys I mentioned were clutch in the big games - hitting all the necessary shots to keep their team in the game and give them a chance to win it at the end.
You can average a ton of points if you take a ton of shots. It was only until the Lakers started getting Pau/Artest involved were they able to finally take the lead. I am not dogging on the Lakers at all, great game by them. In my opinion Pau was clearly the man of the game, if not Artest.
The storyline for this game, for this entire series really, was Kobe's Legacy - in that respect he didn't prove anything to me based on his performance tonight. And if anything this game makes me respect Phil Jackson more - clearly the best coach in the game today.
Just want to note that I am not a fan of either team - Zombie Sonics for me, and well... lets just say its a love-hate relationship. lol
